Kuemper At Carroll

Carroll 4

Kuemper 0

Carroll High threatened in the 1st before taking the lead in the 2nd and earning a huge win over Kuemper on Tuesday. The Tigers scored 3-runs in the 2nd inning, enough to win, thanks to the great performance by Stone Sibenaller on the hill. He held Kuemper to 3-hits and only allowed them to have three runners reach 2nd base and one to get to 3rd base. The Tigers offense did enough, scoring in the 2nd and 4th innings and threatening in the 1st and 6th. Kuemper struggled to get comfortable at the plate and made a few miscues in the field, helping Carroll score a pair of unearned runs.

Landon Pottebaum singled for Kuemper in the 1st but Stone Sibenaller came up with a big strikeout to keep them from scoring. The Tigers tried to make them pay, loading the bases with a walk, Kuemper error and a hit-by-pitch. A fly ball to centerfield with 2-outs got the Knights out of trouble with the game scoreless. Noah Reiman singled and made it to 2nd base in the 2nd for Kuemper but the Knights stranded two runners on base. The Tigers pounced in the bottom half with Mason Stitz leading off with a double and Blake Slagle singling him home. Landon Petersen reached on an error and Slagle and Petersen scored on another Kuemper error to put Carroll up 3-0. Stone Sibenaller set the Knights down in order in the 3rd and 4th and Carroll added an insurance run in the 4th. Landon Petersen singled and scored on a groundout by Jackson Gross. Ryan Sundrup kept Kuemper in the game, getting Carroll in the 5th and 6th, limiting them to two baserunners. Mason Knerl walked in the 6th for Kuemper but was stranded at 3rd and Thomas Pottebaum and Noah Reiman both reached base in the 7th but the Tigers got a force out at 2nd base and Stone Sibenaller ended the game with a strikeout.
