Kuemper dropped the first game of the doubleheader on Monday, collecting 6 hits but making 3 errors to help Glenwood score 7-runs on 9 hits. Glenwood took the early lead and never trailed, getting 3-runs in the 1st and all 7-runs by the 4th inning.
Glenwood used a triple and a pair of hit-by-pitches to score 3-runs in the 1st inning. The Knights tried to answer in the bottom half with Aaron McDermott was hit-by-pitch and scored on a single by Ryan Sundrup. Kuemper left two players on base in the 1st and 2nd innings while Glenwood added a run in the 2nd to lead 4-2. The Rams scored again in the 3rd with a base hit and a walk followed by a Kuemper error. The 2-run inning gave them a 6-1 lead heading into the bottom 3rd. Kuemper had runners on 2nd and 3rd after a Ryan Sundrup singled to move Landon Pottebaum to 3rd. The Knights didn’t score and trailed 7-2 heading into the 6th. Nash Leonard walked and Logan Rial, who ran for him, scored on a single by Caden Vonnahme. Aaron McDermott reached on a fielder’s choice and Mason Knerl singled but the Knights didn’t score.
Ryan Sundrup had 2 hits to lead the Knights, adding an RBI. Caden Vonnahme had a base hit and an RBI, Noah Reiman added a base hit and scored.

Carlisle had a huge 1st inning, helping them propel themselves to a quick win in the first game of the varsity doubleheader. The Wildcats scored 9-runs with Carroll struggling on defense, allowing only three earned runs in that inning. Nolan Stitz came in relief and settled things down for the Tigers. They weren’t able to climb their way back into the game, finishing with 5-hits. They weren’t able to string hits together and Carlisle only walked one batter, not giving Carroll extra runners on base.
Chase Schable, Tallon Crandall, Braxton Lu, Mason Stitz and Landon Petersen all had a hit for Carroll.

Carroll hung tough into the 4th inning but Carlisle exploded for 14-runs in the 4th to end the game in four innings. The Tigers offense weren’t able to take advantage of the strong start on the hill by Tallon Crandall as he held the Wildcats to 2-runs through three innings. Carroll finished with 3 hits and battled for 3 walks. The game was 2-1 Carlisle heading into the 4th inning. Chase Schable reached base in the 3rd and scored for Carroll to tie the game at 1.
Jackson Gross, Tallon Crandall and Mason Stitz all had a base hit with Chase Schable scoring a run.
The Tigers fall to 7-16 overall and will take on Kuemper on 93.7 KKRL on Tuesday.

Coon Rapids Bayard gave up a pair of unearned runs in the 4th but rallied to score 3-runs in the 6th to earn another come from behind win. The Crusaders struggled on offense through five innings to get hits and group them together. They kept battling and Head Coach John Waddle was proud of the way the kids kept fighting. The Crusaders worked the count in the bottom of the 6th to earn four walks. Jace Baker snuck in a single to put pressure on the Cougars. CAM made a pair of errors and were called for a balk and Coon Rapids Bayard scored 3-runs to take the lead. Mason Culbertson closed out the Cougars in the top of the 7th to earn the win.
Cal Heydon had a pair of doubles with Jace Baker singling and scoring, Tyler Mohr and Parker Hays singled with Hays scoring. Andrew McAlister added a run scored. Ty Heydon went 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and 0 earned runs with 7 strikeouts. Mason Culbertson earned the win, allowing 1 hit in 3 innings with 2 strikeouts.
The Crusaders clinched the conference title, improving to 21-3 overall and 10-0 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They close out the regular season at home against Ar-We-Va on Tuesday.

Glidden Ralston built a 6-1 lead in the 4th inning and appeared to be in control of the game with Colby Wallace dominating on the hill and the bats collecting 8-hits through four innings. Boyer Valley didn’t go away and started to chip away in the 5th, then took advantage of a couple miscues by Glidden Ralston in the 7th to tie the game and send it to extra innings. The Bulldogs erupted for 5-runs in the 8th, then held on as Glidden Ralston had three guys get on base in the bottom of the 8th.
Boyer Valley scored first, getting a run in the 1st inning, though Colby Wallace struck out the first-two batters in the game. A single drove in an unearned run but the Bulldogs left a runner on 2nd base. Glidden Ralston got hits from Jonathan Bergmeier, Blayce Nelson, an RBI single by Daniel Thooft and Landon Rohrbeck singled, driving in a run to give them a 2-1 lead. Blayce Nelson singled, stole 2nd and 3rd base and scored on a wild pitch in the 3rd and the Wildcats stretched the lead to 3-1. They added 3-runs in the 4th inning with Colby Wallace doubling with 1-out. He scored when Collin Sturm reached on an error, followed by a Jonathan Bergmeier double. Blayce Nelson drove it deep in the outfield, scoring a run on a sac fly and Daniel Thooft singled to score Bergmeier, putting the Wildcats up 6-1. Just when it looked like Glidden Ralston was in control. Boyer Valley started putting the ball on the ball in the 5th. The scored 3-runs on 3-hits to pull within 6-4. Glidden Ralston looked like they were going to keep answering, getting Lucas Christian on with an error and scoring on a base hit from Colby Wallace. The lead was 7-4 heading into the 6th where Boyer Valleys snuck in a pair of runs with three singles. They had a runner thrown out at 3rd to end the inning and Glidden Ralston clung to a 7-6 lead going to the bottom of the 6th. Daniel Thooft pushed the lead to 8-6 with a solo home run, just past the outstretched glove of the right fielder. Glidden Ralston had some unlucky bounces and mistakes that kept the Bulldogs inning going in the top of the 7th. They led off with a single, then caught a break with a dropped fly ball, After a strikeout Daniel Thooft made a great stop on a play in the hole but nobody covered 1st base and the inning continued. A 2 RBI single by Cale Soma tied the game and Glidden Ralston got out of a jam with runners on 2nd and 3rd, sending the game to the bottom of the 7th. The Wildcats weren’t able to get a baserunner in the 7th and Boyer Valley took over in the 8th, batting eleven guys, scoring 5-runs on 3 hits. Colby Wallace walked to start the bottom of the 8th and scored on a sac fly by Jonathan Bergmeier but Glidden Ralston fell short in their comeback.
Daniel Thooft had a team high 4 hits with a solo home run, 3 RBI and a run scored. Jonathan Bergmeier had a pair of hits with a double and scored twice. Blayce Nelson had a pair of hits and scored 2 runs. Colby Wallace had a double, part of a 2 hit game with an RBI and scored 2 runs.
The loss drops Glidden Ralston to 6-11. They host East Sac at 5:00 on Tuesday, then play IKM-Manning after that game.
