Kuemper was outhit 10-3 in a loss at Harlan on Saturday as the Knights played a conference makeup game that was postponed on Thursday. A 6-run 2nd inning put the Knights in a hole they weren’t able to battle back from. They got a single from Mason Knerl in the 1st inning but stranded him at 1st. The Knights threatened in the 2nd with Noah Reiman walking and moving to 3rd but was stranded along with Caden Vonnahme on 1st after he singled. Harlan took advantage in the bottom of the 2nd. The Cyclones had ten batters come to the plate, collecting 4-hits, highlighted by a 3-run home run from Hayden Soma. Harlan led 6-0 going into the 3rd. Kuemper only had two baserunners over the final three innings with Landon Pottebaum reaching on an error in the 4th and Nash Leonard doubling in the 5th. The Cyclones added a run in the 4th, then ended the game with a 3-run 5th, having six straight batters reach base.
Nash Leonard doubled with Mason Knerl and Caden Vonnahme both singling.
The Knights fell to 12-11 and will host Glenwood for a doubleheader on Monday.

The Crusaders earned a huge win over West Lyon in their opening game of the Prange Classic on Saturday afternoon. They used three pitchers with Mason Culbertson getting the start, going 2 innings and Tyler Mohr relieving him. Mohr earned the win, going 4 1/3 innings and Cal Heydon got the final 2-outs to earn the save. They combined to allow 6-hits with 1-walk. Ty Heydon had a pair of singles with an RBI, Paker Hays, who was named Player of the Game by the Prange Classic had two RBI singles and Jace Baker had an RBI single.

Coon Rapids Bayard had to rally in the 7th, scoring 3-runs in the top half to take the lead. They held on, thanks to a great defensive play in the bottom of the 7th. Blake Heydon replaced Cal Heydon on the hill in the 7th, earning the save. Coon Rapids Bayard threw out the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the 7th with a great throw from centerfield to the relay for the 2nd out. Blake Heydon had an RBI on a sac fly, Cole Cretsinger had an RBI double and Max Shirbroun doubled. The other two Crusaders runs scored on a throwing error by Kee. Cal Heydon got the win on the hill, going 6 plus innings, allowing 2 hits with 9 strikeouts and walking 3.
