Glidden Ralston picked up another win, topping Coon Rapids Bayard at home on Wednesday, staying one game behind Woodbine for the lead in the Rolling Valley Conference. Jaelyn Subbert was strong in the circle and the Wildcats hit the ball well. Two big innings were the difference for Glidden Ralston, scoring 6-runs in the 2nd inning and 4-runs in the 4th to end the game.
Anna Hart gave Coon Rapids Bayard the lead to start the game, singling and scoring on a ball hit by Aubrey Hofbauer. The Crusaders defense and pitching shut the Wildcats down in the 1st inning, maintaining a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the 2nd. The Wildcats bats got hot, finishing with 12 hits, leading to 11-runs. Glidden Ralston took control of the gam in the 2nd with 6-runs. Their defense and Jaelyn Subbert in the circle took over from there.
Jaelyn Subbert alllwed 1 hit and no earned runs while striking out 7 in 4 innings. Kassidy Wenck was perfect at the plate with 3 hits, including a double. Wenck scored a pair of runs and scored once. Kennedy Thooft added a pair of hits with a double, swinging well with runners in scoring position, she finished with 4 RBI. Chloe Peters added 2 hits and scored 2 runs. Ellie Bergmeier and Kate Bergmeier both scored twice.
Anna Hart had the lone hit and run for Coon Rapids Bayard. Aubrey Hofbauer added a base hit and an RBI.
The Wildcats improve to 11-3 overall and will entertain Ar-We-Va on Thursday. Coon Rapids Bayard falls to 1-14 and will host Ar-We-Va on Friday.

Carroll suffered a loss on Wednesday at home against 5th ranked ADM. The Tigers were not able to get any baserunners against the ADM pitching. Emma Danner took the loss for Carroll, throwing all 4 innings, allowing 15 hits and 14 earned runs. Carroll held ADM scoreless in the 4th inning after having to deal with two rain delays during the game.
Carroll falls to 0-16 and will host South Central Calhoun on Thursday on a night they will honor the 2005 State Softball team that finished 4th.

Kuemper At Creston- Varsity Doubleheader

Things got away from Kuemper in the 3rd inning as Creston sent twenty batters to the plate, scoring 14-runs in 8-hits and 6- walks. The Panthers had scored 3-runs in both the 1st and 2nd innings, combining for three home runs. Kuemper had cut into the league in the 2nd inning with Kaylie Wolterman singled with 1-out and Kyla Wiskus followed with a single. Morgan Masching came up with 2-outs and doubled to score Wolterman. Chloe Gehling walked to start the game and ended the 1st inning at 3rd base and Kaylie Wolterman singled in the 4th for the Knights other baserunners.
Kaylie Wolterman had a pair of hits to lead the Knights and scored a run, Morgan Masching doubled, driving in a run and Kyla Wiskus added a base hit.

Kuemper dropped the second game of the double header but played much better, collecting 5-hits. The Panthers used the momentum from game 1 to start quickly in game 2. They scored twice in the 1st inning and were threatening to score more but Kaylie Wolterman threw out a baserunner trying to steal 2nd. The Panthers added a run in the 2nd inning but the Knights set them down in order in the 3rd. Kuemper threatened in the 1st with Charlotte Schwabe and Addison Schon both walked but were stranded on base. Ellee Schreck reached on a fielder’s choice in the 2nd inning but was stranded on 2nd base. Creston stretched the lead in the 4th, getting a 3-run home run, helping them score 4-runs. They led the game 7-0 heading into the 7th inning as Kuemper stranded Lauren Gehling on base in the 5th inning. Kyla Wiskus singled for Kuemper to start the 7th and Ellee Schreck followed it with a single. Morgan Masching drove in Wiskus with a ground out and Chloe Gehling scored Schreck with a ground ball to 1st base.
Kyla Wiskus had a pair of hits to lead the Knights, adding a run scored. Chloe Gehling, Lauren Gehling and Ellee Schreck all had a base hit with Chloe adding an RBI and Schreck scoring a run.
Kuemper falls to 9-13 overall and will head to Harlan on 93.7 KKRL on Thursday.

IKM-Manning continues to show really good improvement in a tight loss to LoMa. The Wolves rallied but fell short as the Panthers scored twice in the top of the 7th to take a 8-4 lead. The Panthers jumped out early, scoring 4-runs in the 3rd, pushing it to 6-0 with a pair of runs in the 4th. IKM-Manning came alive in the 5th, finishing with seven hits, including a 2-run home run from Alikxa McGinn, helping to ignite the dugout. Anna Stangl singled to start the rally. McGinn cranked the 2-run home run to get them on the board. Karlee Arp followed it with a walk. Keagan Eischeid put down a sac bunt and Arp took off for 3rd, forcing a throw. The throw got away from the Panthers and Arp scored on the play, cutting the deficit to 6-3. IKM-Manning added a run in the 6th and were down by two going to the 7th. Taylor Beckendorf started the 6th with a double, then stole 3rd base. Macy Rasmussen executed a sac bunt to score Beckendorf. The Panthers picked up two insurance runs in the top of the 7th and needed them as IKM-Manning scored twice in the bottom half. Anna Stangl reached on an error and moved to 2nd base on the play. She moved to 3rd on a ground out by Alikxa McGinn. Karlee Arp singled, scoring Stangl. Keagan Eischeid moved Arp to 3rd and Kadynce Ketcham drove in Arp. IKM-Manning had the tying run at the plate but the rally ended with a ground out.
Anna Stangl and Karlee Arp both had 2 hits with Stangl doubling and scoring twice and Arp drove in a run and scored 2 runs. Alikxa McGinn had a 2-run home run, Taylor Beckendorf had a double and scored a run.
The Wolves fall to 8-12 and will head to Riverside on Thursday.

Exira-EHK-Audubon and Ar-We-Va battled with the Spartans pulling away in the 5th inning to end the game. Both teams played well defensively with no errors committed in the game. Exira-EHK-Audubon got their bats going in the 5th, scoring 5-runs on six hits and all seven batters in the inning reaching base. Ar-We-Va struggled at the plate against Riley Miller with Emma Leiting getting on base in the 1st inning. That was the Rockets only baserunner as Miller pitched a no-hitter, striking out 9.
Emma Leiting was hit-by-pitch in the 1st inning for Ar-We-Va but the Rockets couldn’t take advantage. Neither team scored in the first-two innings with Abby Wanser singling for the Spartans in the 2nd inning only baserunner. Exira-EHK-Audubon broke through in the 3rd. Alissa Testroet singled to start the inning and stole 2nd base. Taryn Petersen added a 1-out single, setting up an RBI sacrifice from Anna Larsen to put them ahead 1-0. Petersen added a run and the Spartans were up 2-0. Zoey Rasmussen singled to start the 4th and Liv Inman came in as a courtesy runner. Inman scored on a groundout by Alissa Testroet after Inman had stolen 2nd base. The Spartans led 3-0 going to the 5th. Taryn Petersen singled, followed by a single from Anna Larsen, scoring Petersen. Rylie Miller walked and Abby Wanser kept swinging a hot bat with another single. Lucy Stanerson singled to score Larsen and Maya King, who was runner for Miller. Zoey Rasmussen was hit-by-pitch and Bryli Petersen ended the game with a 2 RBI double, scoring Wanser and Liv Inman, who was running for Rasmussen. Riley Miller kept Ar-We-Va off-balance, striking out the side in the 2nd inning and having at least one strikeout in every inning.
