East Sac put the bat on the ball, putting pressure on the Ar-We-Va defense which had been solid this season. The Raiders aggressiveness led to a tough night for the Rockets defense, helping East Sac earn a 12-2 win in 5 innings. The game started tight with both teams stranding a runner early on. It changed in the 3rd inning with East Sac collecting 6-runs on 1-hit with the help of five Rockets errors. Miranda Gerdes was strong in the circle, throwing a no-hitter through three innings as her team built a 10-0 lead. Ar-We-Va changed their approach in the 4th inning and the bats came alive, finishing with 5-hits and scoring 2-runs over the final two innings. East Sac took advantage of every mistake Ar-We-Va made and scored in every inning after the 1st inning.
Jordin Carroll tripled to lead off the 2nd inning for East Sac with a line drive to right-center field. Gabby Hundling made a tremendous effort, nearly making a highlight catch but Carroll finished with a triple, scoring a few pitches later on a passed ball. The Rockets tried to answer, getting back-to-back walks from Jazmine Molina and Amber Ragaller but those two were stranded on base with Miranda Gerdes earning her fifth strikeout of the game. East Sac blew the game open in the 3rd with Lilly Lode reaching on an error, followed by Addisen Ehler walking, Chloe Bieret reaching on an error and Makenna Steiger singling, driving in Ehler. Ar-We-Va ended the inning with five errors, giving up thee one hit to Steiger. East Sac took advantage, scoring 6-runs to lead 7-0. Addisen Ehler walked to start the 4th for East Sac, Chloe Bieret reached on an error and Makenna Steiger singled. Lauryn Lally, Mackenzie Friedman and Sarah Bontrager had RBI in the 4th and East Sac went up 10-0. The Rockets fought back in the bottom half of the 4th. Morgan Berg singled and scored on a single by Annalee Wittrock. Ar-We-Va nearly scored a second run but Addisen Ehler threw out a runner at home on a ball hit to centerfield. Three straight singled with 1-out in the 5th by Chloe Bieret, Makenna Steiger and Lauryn Lally scored 1 pair of runs for East Sac. Lally drove in both runs, giving East Sac a 12-1 lead. Gabby Hundling singled for Ar-We-Va to start the 5th and scored on a single by Morgan Berg but Miranda Gerdes induced a ground ball back to the circle with 2-outs to end the game.
Makenna Steiger had 4 hits with an RBI and scored twice. Jordin Carroll tripled and scored 2 runs, Lauryn Lally added a base hit, adding 3 RBI. Chloe Bieret scored 3 runs. Miranda Gerdes earned the win, going 5 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs with 9 strikeouts for East Sac.
Morgan Berg paced the Ar-We-Va offenses with 2 hits, an RBI and scoring a run. Annalee Wittrock had a base hit and an RBI, Gabby Hundling added a base hit and scored a run and Aubrey McCollough had a base hit.
East Sac moves to 10-8 and will host Manson NW Webster on KIKD 106.7 on Wednesday. Ar-We-Va falls to 3-4 and will head to Exira-EHK-Audubon on Wednesday.
