Glidden-Ralston hosted Ridge View in softball on Monday. Ridge View and Glidden-Ralston came in as two of the better programs so far. Ridge View batted 1st and started hot as they scored and gained a short 1-0 lead after the 1st inning. They would capitalize again in the top of the 2nd as they scored another 3 runs to make it 4-0 in the top of the 2nd. The Wildcats added their 1st bit of offense as they scored their 1st run of the game to make it 4-1. Ridge View would add two more runs in the 3rd and 4th as they grow the lead to 6-2. In the 5th, the Wildcats would add another run but the rally would fall short as Ridge View would score 2 more in the 7th to win it 8-2 on the road.

South Central Calhoun went to Storm Lake to take on the Panthers on Monday. Both teams opened the matchup on a strong note with both trading 2 runs in the first inning to be tied up 2-2. Storm Lake St. Marys turned the heat up in the 2nd with a big 12 run inning to take a 14-2 lead after 2. Both teams would trade 2 runs again in the 3rd and SCC would add one more in the 4th as the game would end with a Panthers win 16-5.

Exira-EHK-Audubon went to Underwood today for a varsity softball matchup. The Spartans loaded the bases before a quick 3 outs left 2 on and kept it 0-0. The Eagles would follow that up with 1 run with 4 batters and 3 outs to make it 1-0. The Spartans picked it up after as they had Zoey Rasmussen hit a single and ultimately score to tie the 1-1 ballgame after the bottom of the 2nd. The Eagles had one reach due to a walk but she would stay stranded to close the 2nd inning. After the Spartans left 2 stranded, the Eagles would bounce back with another run to recapture a 2-1 lead. The Eagles added two more insurance runs in the 4th to take a commanding 4-1 lead. Exira-EHK-Audubon would rally but would only get 1 run and suffer a 4-2 loss.

Off of the back of a red hot 29-0 win on Friday. The East Sac Raiders hosted Sioux Central in a battle of two 9 loss programs. It was a slow start for both teams as the Raiders had one walk and a single while Sioux Central went 3 and out to keep it 0-0. In the 2nd is where Sioux Central picked it up with 2 runs off of two hits to make it 2-0 after 2. They would fail to score again with a 4 and out. East Sac would not do much better with 5 batters and two singles left stranded. The Raiders woudld get their 1st run in the 4th with Jordin Carroll scoring off and an RBI to Lilly Lode. Sioux Central would add 4 and put up a 6-1 lead to close the 4th inning. They would turn that around and put up 11 runs in the 5th and a shutout defensivly to win it 17-1 in 5 Innings.

IKM-Manning softball hosted Tri-Center in a varisty matchup on Monday. Tri-Center led off with a slow start and no runs. IKM-Manning came to play on their home field tonight as their top 3 scored one after another and Kadynce Ketcham added 1 in the 5 slot to take a 4-0 lead. The Wolves would excel in defense as they forced a 3 and out for Tri-Center. IKM-Manning would have to wait till the 6th to add their insurance runs with Hannah McKinney and Alixka McGinn scoring for the Wolves. The Wolves would only allow 2 runs in the 3rd to pick up a 6-2 win at home.

CRB hosted Boyer Valley in a matchup of 2 out of the 5 Rolling Valley softball teams. CRB came in winless and hoping to avenge a loss earlier in the year to the Bulldogs. Aubrey Hofbauer started her 1st game on the mound and would pitch a 3 up and 3 down led by 2 flyouts from Amelia Eddy. The Crusaders would get it going with the bats in the 1st as well. Anna Hart and Jaymee Kracht would be walked and score for the Crusaders. Aubrey Hofbauer would get on with a single and score as well. They led 3-0 after 1. They would do more in the 2nd with 6 of their 11 batters and take a 9-0 lead. They would slip a little in the 4th, a couple of throwing errors scored 3 initially but one of the Boyer Valley girls was touched by the 3rd base coach while rounding and was called out to make it 9-2 after 4. In the 5th the Crusaders would score Maddy Mason and Amelia Eddy load the bags and Jaymee Kracht would hit an RBI single to walk off and win 12-2 for their first win of the year.
