Ar-We-Va earned their second win of the season, picking up a 3-2 win at Glidden Ralston on Thursday. The Rockets were able to score three runs over the first-four innings and held on as the Wildcats scored in the bottom 7th and had the tying run on 2nd base. Wyatt Ragaller pitched a strong game for the Rockets, limiting Glidden Ralston to 3 hits while striking out 11. The Wildcats held Ar-We-Va to three hits with the first hit coming in the 4th inning. Ar-We-Va was able to take advantage of six walks and three hit-by-pitches, getting guys on base and taking advantage of a pair of Wildcat errors to score two unearned runs. 

Wyatt Ragaller gave Ar-We-Va the lead in the top 1st, reaching on a hit-by-pitch and scoring later in the innings on a ground out by Devon Ehlers. The Wildcats tied the game at 1 in the bottom of the 1st with Landon Rohrbeck walking and scoring on a base hit by Daniel Thooft. Colter Hinners was hit-by-pitch in the 2nd for Ar-We-Va and scored on a walk by Blayne Smith, which came after an error that would have ended the inning. The Rockets stretched the lead to 3-1 in the 4th with Wyatt Riesselman walking and scoring on a single by Blayne Smith. They had a chance to expand the lead but had a runner get hit with a fair ball near 3rd base and were called for a double play to end the threat. Glidden Ralston tried to rally in the 7th. Lucas Christian walked and stole 2nd. He scored on a misplayed ball in the outfield, pulling the Wildcats within 3-2. Colton Rohrbeck was at 2nd base with 2-outs and Wyatt Ragaller was able to induce a ground ball to 2nd base to end the game. 

Wyatt Ragaller, Blayne Smith and Derek Thomsen all had a base hit with Ragaller scoring a run and Smith adding a pair of RBI. Colter Hinners and Wyatt Riesselman both scored a run. Wyatt Ragaller went 7 innings, allowing 3 hits and 0 earned runs with 11 strikeouts to earn the win. 

Colton Rohrbeck had a pair of  hits with a double and drove in a run for Glidden Ralston. Blayce Nelson had a pair of hits, Jonathan Bergmeier doubled and Daniel Thooft had a base hit and an RBI. 

The Rockets improve to 2-6 and will host Woodbine on Friday. Glidden Ralston fell to 5-8 and will head to CAM on Friday.

West Marshall At Kuemper

A big 6th inning dug a hole that Kuemper couldn’t recover from as West Marshall scored  7-runs to take a 13-3 lead. Both teams threatened early with each team having two guys on base in both the 1st and 2nd innings. West Marshall broke through in the 3rd using a hit-by-pitch a single and a 3-run home run to build a 3-0 lead. The Knights responded in the bottom of the 3rd with Aaron McDermott singling to start the inning and Mason Knerl doubling him home. Knerl scored on a West Marshall error, pulling Kuemper within 3-2. Noah Reiman singled with 2-outs and scored after Ryan Sundrup singled and Thomas Pottebaum and Alex Pudenz walked. The Knights left the bases loaded but tied the game at 3. West Marshall added a pair of runs in the 4th. Kuemper had a chance to answer, getting three guys on base in the bottom half but left two stranded on base. The Knights never threatened again, only getting one baserunner the rest of the game. West Marshall had twelve guys bat in the 6th, scoring 7-runs.

Mason Knerl had a double, drove in a run and scored a run for Kuemper. Aaron McDermott singled and scored and Charles Mayhall, Noah Reiman and Ryan Sundrup all had a base hit. Alex Pudenz added an RBI.

The Knights have two games on Friday, hosting Atlantic at 11:00 and traveling to Coon Rapids Bayard on 93.7 KKRL on Friday evening. They are 9-8 on the season.

South Central Calhoun grabbed the lead early, then responded with East Sac scored 5-runs in the 5th to tie the game as the Titans scored 7-runs in the bottom of the 5th to push themselves to a win. South Central Calhoun scored twice in the 1st inning with Aidan Albright and Andrew Anderson both reaching on errors and both scoring. The Titans pushed the lead to 6-0 in the 3rd with 4-runs, highlighted by back-to-back doubles from Cooper Nattress and Pierce Davis. The Raiders got on the board in the 4th with Carter Erritt leading off with a single and scoring on an groundout by Beckem Kluver. That sparked a rally in the 5th for East Sac. They scored 5-runs, tying the game. The Raiders got singles from Tucker Grosely and Jack Gullett and used a pair of Titans errors. South Central Calhoun responded with a 7-run bottom of the 5th. Andrew Anderson, Cooper Nattress, Halas Steig, Aidan Albright and Caleb Juhl all singled in the inning as the Titans batted thirteen guys in the inning. Andrew Anderson struck out the last 7 Raider batters to seal the win for South Central Calhoun.

Caleb Juhl, Cooper Nattress and John Patterson all had 2 hits for the Titans with Nattress doubling and scoring twice and Patterson adding a pair of RBI and scoring a run. Aidan Albright scored twice and Andrew Anderson had a  pair of RBI and scored 2 runs, Pierce Davis doubled and scored a run and Halas Steig scored twice as did Tucker Berner. Andrew Anderson pitched 2 2/3 innings with 7 strikeouts.

Jack Gullett led the Raiders with 2 hits, driving in a run and scoring a run. Landon Sporrer, Cael Roth, Tucker Grosely, Carter Erritt and Beckem Kluver all had a base hit.  Sporrer, Roth, Grosely and Gullett all scored a run. Carter Erritt and Beckem Kluver both had 2 RBI.

South Central Calhoun is 7-7 and hosts Ankeny Christian on Tuesday and East Sacs sits 3-10 and  entertains Sioux Central on Monday.

Jace Starman and Brock Kusel both hit 2-run home runs as the Wolves bats came alive on Thursday. Both teams batted through the order once in the game with the Wolves sending ten guys to the plate in the 3rd inning, scoring 5-runs to take a 5-3 lead. Treynor responded answered in the 4th, batting thirteen guys, scoring 6-runs to take the lead for good. Both teams scored in 5th but Treynor began to pull away late.

Treynor scored 3-runs in the 1st and led 3-0 going into the 3rd. Brandon Enenbach singled for the Wolves in the top of the 3rd and Kasche Huehn walked before Jace Starman singled. Brock Kusel hit a 2-run home run and Karsyn Lorenzen doubled as the Wolves batted ten guys, scoring 5-runs. Treynor responded with 2-runs in the bottom 3rd, tying the game at 5. The Wolves took the lead with a pair of runs in the 4th. Kasche Huehn walked and Jace Starman drilled a 2-run home run. The Wolves had the momentum but Treynor got four of the first-five batters on base in the 4th and went on to score 6-runs. The Wolves pulled within three with a run in the 5th but Treynor scored 3-runs in the 5th and 6th to seal the win.

Jace Starman and Brock Kusel both had a 2-run home run with Starman adding a double and 4 RBI and Kusel had 2 RBI. Karsyn Lorenzen had a pair of hits with a double and scored twice. Kasche Huehn scored 2 runs.

The Wolves fall to 5-11 and will head to AHSTW on Friday.

Audubon traveled to Logan to take on the 12-3 Logan Magnolia baseball team. Audubon opened the game on the offensive end. Brody Schultes reached on a walk and than stole second but would be left stranded as the Wheelers failed to score. LoMa had Wes Vana reach on an error and steal 2nd before being batted in to close the 1st inning up 1-0. Audubon had two people get on before they ended the inning with 3 outs. In the bottom of the 2nd LoMa had 3 batters get on and totaled 4 stolen bases and an RBI single to score a run and go up 2-0. Jack Stanerson would get on by fielders choice in the top of the 3rd as he stole 2nd and 3rd and would score on a passed ball to close the gap to 2-1. LoMa would have a slow 3rd with two runners get on but both would be left stranded to keep it 2-1. Audubon had Colton Hansen and Mason Steckler reach the bags before they would stay stranded and still trail 2-1 after the top of the 4th. The bottom of the 4th is when LoMa took control as they scored the first 4 batters throught the 8 that they batted as they took a commanding 6-1 lead after 4. Audubon battled back in the 5th as they had Jack Stanerson, Brody Schultes, and Ryan Hermansen to trail 6-4 after the top of the 5th. LoMa found a way to combat every offensive attack Audubon would throw at them as they added a final 3 runs in the 5th to go up 9-4. Both teams failed to score in the 6th and 7th as LoMa would win 9-4 at home.
