The game turned in the 4th inning when Glidden Ralston scored 7-runs to grab control of the game. They added a pair of runs in the 5th to end the game with an 8-run lead. The Knights led 4-3 going into the 4th before some defensive miscues and walks allowed Glidden Ralston to grab control, sending ten batters to the plate. The Wildcats got a strong pitching performance from Jaelyn Subbert and minus a couple defensive miscues in the 3rd inning, they played well on defense.

The Wildcats used a pair of Knights errors in the 2nd inning to score 2-runs. Olivia Squibb reached on an error and Ashlynn Tigges singled. Squibb scored on a line drive to 3rd from Chloe Peters and Kennedy Thooft grounded out, scoring Tigges. Kuemper responded in the 3rd, getting their speed on base and forcing Wildcats to make plays. Morgan Masching bunted for a single and Chloe Gehling followed with a bunt single. Both player scored when Glidden Ralston threw the ball away on a ground ball to the pitcher. Charlotte Schwabe reached on the error and scored on a groundout by Claire Venner. A leadoff single by Kassidy Wenck, sparked the Wildcats in the bottom 3rd. Jaelyn Subbert doubled, putting runners on 2nd and 3rd. Bryn Renze singled to score Wenck, tying the game at 3. The 4th started rough for Kuemper and sparked a big inning for Glidden Ralston. Chloe Peters and Kennedy Thooft walked with 1-out and Allison Snyder reached on a fielder’s choice, scoring Chloe Peters. Jenna Subbert walked to load the bases and Jaelyn Subbert singled, scoring Thooft and Snyder. Bryn Renze continued her strong game, singling to score Jenna Subbert and Jaelyn Subbert. Renze scoring on an error later in the inning and and Olivia Squibb, who reached on the error scored on a wild pitch. The Wildcats led 10-4 going to the 5th. Kuemper went down in order in the 5th and Glidden Ralston got a single from Kennedy Thooft to lead off the bottom half. Kassidy Wenck singled and Jenna Subbert walked to load the bases. Kuemper got their second out of the inning at home on a ground ball by Jaelyn Subbert but the bases remained loaded. Bryn Renze put the ball in play and Kuemper had an error, scoring Kassidy Wenck and Jenna Subbert to end the game.

Bryn Renze had 3 hits with a double and 5 RBI, Kassidy Wenck and Jaelyn Subbert both had 2 hits with Wenck scoring twice and Subbert having a double. Jenna Subbert and Olivia Squibb both scored twice and Jaelyn Subbert earned the win, going 5 innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run.

Chloe Gehling, Addison Schon, Lauren Gehling and Morgan Masching all had a base hit for Kuemper. Chloe, Lauren, Masching and Emma Vonnahme all scored a run. Claire Venner added an RBI.

Glidden Ralston moves to 9-1 and will host Woodbine on Monday while Kuemper falls to 9-9 and entertains Atlantic for a varsity doubleheader on Monday.

Carroll and East Sac At OABCIG Tournament

East Sac scored 7-runs in the 3rd inning, taking a 11-1 lead but Carroll fought back, scoring 4-runs in the 5th. East Sac held on to win 11-7, earning their tournament record at 1-1. The Raiders outhit the Tigers 14 to 6 with 4 hits coming in the 3rd inning when they batted thirteen batters.

Chloe Bieret drove in Addisen Ehler in the 1st inning, then Bieret scored on a ground out by Lauryn Lally as East Sac took a 2-0 lead in the 1st. The lead grew to 4-0 in the 2nd with Jordin Carroll getting one of her two-triples, driving in Denae Thayer with Carroll scoring on a base hit by Lilly Lode. Kyla Owen walked, advancing on a base hit by Brylee Mrla and scored on a ground out by Kyra Hosenfelt. The Tigers trailed 4-1 going into the bottom 3rd. A single by Makenna Steiger started the 3rd for East Sac. Sarah Bontrager singled and Denae Thayer reached on an error. Jordin Carroll singled, driving in a run and Lilly Lode added and RBI on a fielder’s choice. Chloe Bieret pushed the lead to 11-1 with a 2-run single. East Sac earned a insurance run in the 4th with Jordin Carroll tripling and scoring on a ground ball by Lilly Lode. Carroll scored twice in the 4th and made a run at the Tigers in the 5th. Kyla Owen walked to lead off the inning. Brylee Mrla reached on a fielder’s choice and scored on a single by Tahlia Hahn. Emma Danner and Bailey Bowman followed with singles and Hahn, Danner and Bowman all scored. The Tigers ran out of time as the inning ended.

Jordin Carroll had 3 hits with a pair of triples, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 times. Addisen Ehler, Chloe Bieret, Denae Thayer and Lilly Lode all had 2 hits with Ehler scoring twice, Bieret had 3 RBI and scored 2 runs, Thayer scored twice and Lode had 3 RBI and scored a run.

Tahlia Hahn had a team high 2 hits for Carroll with a double and scoring 2 runs. Bailey Bowman had a base hit and scored twice and Teagan McCool had a base hit and an RBI.

East Sac took on MVAOCOU in their last game of the tournament and Carroll played OABCIG.

Addisen Ehler singled and scored on a passed ball as the Raiders had 3-hits in the 1st inning but only scored 1-run. The offense was quiet after that, having only three baserunners over the next three innings. MVAOCOU exploded for 12-runs after leading 2-1 going into the bottom 3rd. The Raiders never recovered and the time limit hit after the 4th innings.

Addisen Ehler had a base hit and scored. Sarah Bontrager and Lilly Lode both singled for East Sac.

The Raiders are 8-4 heading into their game at Newell Fonda on Monday.

Emma Danner had a solo home run for Carroll and Bailey Bowman added a run scored but Carroll felt short on Saturday. The Tigers added a run in the 4th inning with Tahlia Hahn earning a base hit and scoring. OABCIG took the early lead with a pair of runs in the 1st inning, then added three in the 3rd to lead 5-0. Carroll answered in the 4th with Tahlia Hahn getting a hit and scoring to pull Carroll within 6-1. The Falcons added a run in the 4th and 5th to take a commanding 7-1 lead.

Emma Danner had a solo home run for Carroll with Kyra Hosenfelt, Tahlia Hahn and Bailey Bowman all having a base hit, Bowman scored a run for Carroll.

The Tigers sit 0-12 as they head to North Polk on Monday.
