Ar-We-Va has a busy week in Baseball as they kick off the week hosting Exira-EHK on Monday. Ar-We-Va found a steady offense to open the night as they scored 2 in both the 1st and 2nd. They would score in 5 of the 7 innings. Wyatt Ragaller led the team as he pitched 4 1/3 innings with 10 strikeouts. He also went 4-5 at the plate with 3 RBI’s. Ar-We-Va found gaps in the defense on offense and used that to pick up their first win 11-8 at home.

Kuemper went to Red Oak for a double-header on Monday. Kuemper led off with a walk from Tristin Janson where he got all the way around. They would than have three outs to follow as they went to the bottom of the 1st up 1-0. Red Oak would go 3 up and 3 down with a strike out and two groundouts. Kuemper would get 3 on with an error, a walk, and a single but would leave them stranded and keep it 1-0 in favor of the Knights. The Knights would have to wait till the 5th to score again where Mason Knerl would get around off of his single. Red Oak would score in the 3rd and 5th only and fall 5-2.

Kuemper picked up the win in Game 1 of the double-header. Game 2 started with both teams going 3 up and 3 out. Red Oak would score in the 2nd to go up 1-0. Red Oak would score 3 more in the 3rd with Kuemper getting 2. Kuemper would struggle on the offensive end as they only got 5 hits in the 2nd game. Red Oak doubled that and with a huge 4 run 5th inning they would find huge success on the offensive end.

Carroll went to Sioux City East on Monday. Carroll’s offense was slow at the plate as they only got to 4 hits on the night. Stone Sibenaller contributed the most offense as he went 2-3 at the plate with a homerun and a double. Sioux City east scored in every inning until the 5th as they picked up a huge win 15-1. Carroll will be on the road Wednesday at Bondurant-Farrar.

East Sac went to Pocahontas Area to take on the Indians on Monday. East Sac came in at 2-5 while Pocahontas Area was 5-1. The Indians scored all 11 runs in the 1st inning as the offense clicked for them tonight. 4 Innings were played as East Sac struggled at the plate. The Raiders found two hits on the night with one walk and a hit by pitch to add with it. The Raiders fall to 2-6 on the year.

IKM-Manning went to Underwood for a varsity baseball matchup on Monday. IKM-M came into the night at 2-1 with three games under their belt while LoMa was 2-0. IKM-M struggled at the plate when it came to batting. The Wolves came out with two hits on the board and both of them being singles. The Wolves were walked 7 times but without the hits they left all stranded throughout the night. On defense they gave up 11 in the 1st inning and 1 in the 3rd to fall 12-0 in 4 innings.

Audubon went on the road to face Missouri Valley on Monday. Audubon jumped out and got some offense going to start the game. They got a pair of singles to start the game. Jack Stanerson was hit around on a fielders choice to make it 1-0 for the Wheelers. Missouri Valley would go 3 up and 3 down. The 2nd inning is where it heated up with the Wheelers taking a 3-0 lead as Jack Stanerson got his 2nd run of the game and Brody Schultes finds his first. Missouri Valley would step in and find their offense as they tie it up 3-3 going into the 3rd. Audubon’s offense would fall flat after the 2nd as they fail to score again after this. Missouri Valley would put up 10 more runs through the next 3 to win it 13-3.

Glidden Ralston took the early lead but Coon Rapids Bayard got on a roll in the 5th, going up 9-1 and finished the game with a 2-run 6th. Mason Culbertson pitched very well in relief for the Crusaders allowing them to get their rhythm on offense. Lucas Christian pitched well for a couple innings but was hurt by a few defensive miscues in the 5th.

Jonathan Bergmeier was hit-by-pitch in the 1st inning and came around to score on a passed ball as the Wildcats took a 1-0 lead, stranding runners on 2nd and 3rd. Coon Rapids Bayard nearly answered in the bottom half with Cal Heydon hitting the first of his two triples. The Wildcats got out of trouble as Daniel Thooft got three straight outs. Max Shirbroun singled around a pair of walks in the 2nd inning and Eli McAlister singled to score a run. Cal Heydon walked, driving in a run and Ty Heydon added an RBI to put the Crusaders up 3-0. They added a run in the 4th with Cal Heydon doubling and scoring on a sac bunt from Parker Hays. Glidden Ralston threatened in 3rd, getting Landon Rohrbeck to 3rd base and they had runners on 2nd base in the 4th and 5th innings. A nifty double play turned by Caden Oswald in the 3rd ended the threat and Mason Culbertson had a couple big strikeouts to help get the Crusaders out of trouble. A walk by Caden Oswald started the bottom 5th for the Crusaders. Tyler Mohr reached on an error the landslide started for Coon Rapids Bayard. Max Shirbroun singled and Eli McAlister picked up his second single, driving in a pair of runs. Cal Heydon tripled, scoring McAlister and Heydon scored on a Wildcat error. Ty Hedon tripled but was stranded at 3rd. The Crusaders took advantage of three Wildcat errors in the inning. Mason Culbertson singled to score the game-ending run in the 6th, scoring Tyler Mohr from 3rd.

Cal Heydon had a double and a pair of triples, driving in a pair of runs and scoring a pair of runs. Ty Heydon tripled, adding an RBI. Mason Culbertson had a base hit, drove in a run and scored. Culbertson earned the win, going 5 1/3 innings, allowing 1 hit while striking out 9. Max Shirbroun had 2 hits and scored twice.

Jonathan Bergmeier scored a run for Glidden Ralston. Collin Sturm had a base hit and was hit-by-pitch.

Coon Rapids Bayard moves to 9-1 and will host Stanton on Tuesday. Glidden Ralston falls to 3-5 and will head to ACGC on Wednesday.
