Glidden Ralston had their two game winning streak snapped, stranding nine runners in scoring position while Madrid kept finding the gaps late, scoring 7-runs over their final two at-bats. The Wildcat had success early, scoring 3-runs. They held the lead until the 3rd when Madrid pushed 5-runs across the plate. Glidden Ralston pulled within a run, scoring once in the 5th but Madrid added 4-runs in the bottom of the 5th, adding 3 more in the 6th. 

Landon Rohrbeck, Daniel Thooft, Blayce Nelson, Colby Wallace and Jonathan Bergmeier all had a base hit. Thooft doubled, driving in one run and scored. Wallace and Bergmeier both scored a run. 

The loss drops the Wildcats to 2-2 overall as they head to Newell Fonda on Monday.

Carroll went to Woodward Granger on Friday for baseball. Carroll came into tonight at 2-1 and started slower with Woodward Granger getting out to a 1-0 lead. Carroll than climbed back into it with a run in the 3rd inning to tie it at 1 a piece. Carroll totaled 4 hits through the 7 innings but still scored 2 runs. The 2nd came in the 4th inning when they got up to 2-1. Jackson Gross pitched all 7 innings while giving up only 2 hits and striking out 2 batters. Carroll now moves to 3-1 with one of their more successful starts in years.

East Sac traveled to Manson NW Webster on Friday. East Sac opened the game by driving in 2 runs in the top of the 1st. Manson would answer with 2 runs of their own to tie it up 2-2. Manson would take a commanding lead as they would score 4 more runs in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th to make it 6-3. East Sac would not strike again until the 6th when they put up 2 runs and came within 1 run. East Sac would than put the final nail in the coffin with two runs in the top of the 7th and a great defensive stand to hold on and win 8-6.

Kuemper hosted Woodbury Central at Merchants park on Friday. Both teams played on Thursday with Kuemper losing to Lewis Central and Woodbury beating OABCIG. Landon Pottebaum was on the mound for the Knights and he made the most of it. In the top of the first the Knights got two quick outs than Pottebaum struck out the 3rd. The Knights rode that momentum with Tristin Janson getting on base due to error. He than was drove in by a sac groundout from Landon Pottebaum. Noah Rieman in the 2nd inning got on by a single than was drove around for the Knights to go up 2-0. Woodbury got on the board as Grayson Lloyd scored off an RBI single from Jayden Lloyd. The Knights scored in every inning with this being none the less. Mason Knerl was the one to cross off of an RBI single from Noah Rieman. Woodbury cut the lead to 1 in the top of the 5th with 2 runs crossing. Kuemper kept their offensive master class back on with 3 runs from Charlie Mayhall, Ryan Sundrup and Thomas Pottebaum. Woodbury would not score again and Kuemper tacked on 2 more in the 6th to take the 9-3 victory.

The Knights move to 4-2 on the year.

IKM-Manning falls to 2-3 overall with a tough road loss to Boyer Valley on Friday. The Bulldogs put the game away with an 8-run 4th inning but they controlled the game from the start. The Wolves scored first, getting a run in the 1st inning with Kasche Huehn getting driven in by Jace Starman. The Bulldogs took the lead in the bottom half with 3-runs, then added 3 more in the 2nd and a run in the 3rd. Jack Sanford drove in Brandon Enebach in the 4th for the Wolves but Boyer Valley scored 8 times in the bottom half to end the game. 

Kasche Huehn had a base hit and scored a run. Brock Kusel doubled and Jack Sanford added a base hit and drove in a run. 

The Wolves head to Missouri Valley on Monday.

Tri Center At Audubon

Audubon and Tri Center played a marathon on Friday night with both teams having a big offensive inning early, then struggled to score until Tri Center got a pair of runs in the top of the 10th to win 16-14. Audubon gained control early with 4-runs in the bottom of the 1st but Tri Center built a 10-4 lead with 8-runs in the 3rd. They extended the lead to 12-4 before the Wheelers scored 9-runs in the bottom 4th, taking a 13-12 lead. Tri Center tied the game with a run in the 5th and neither team scored again until the 8th when each team scored a run. 

A single to start the top of the 10th helped Tri Center take a 16-14 lead. After a strikeout the Trojans got a walk and a sac bunt. A Wheelers error gave them the lead which was extended on the sac bunt. The Wheelers went in order in the bottom of the 10th. 

Two singles followed by an error in the top of the 3rd started the rally by Tri Center. They tied the game at 4 with a Wheeler error, then took advantage of four straight walks and two wild pitches to take a 9-4 lead. The lead grew to 10-4 before the end of the inning with another wild pitch. The Trojans lead grew to 12-4 with a pair of runs in the 4th. Audubon responded in the bottom of the 4th. Hayden Larsen walked and Ryan Hermansen singled to start the rally. Carson Wessel was hit-by-pitch to score the first run of the inning, opening the floodgates for the Wheelers. A Colton Hansen sac fly scored another run, cutting the Wheelers deficit to 12-6 but was the 2nd out of the inning. Gabe Jensen singled to score Brody Schultes, Adam Obrecht singled, scoring Carson Wessel. The Wheelers worked out four straight walks, pulling within 12-11. Brody Schultes was hit-by-pitch, scoring Hayden Larsen and Ryan Hermansen gave Audubon a 14-13 lead on a catcher’s interference call. The Trojans got a huge run in the top of the 5th with a double, tying the game at 14. It went to extra innings tied at 14 with nobody scoring until the 8th inning with both teams scoring 1-run. Brody Schultes tied the game at 15, singling home Jack Stanerson. Audubon stranded a runner on base in the 9th. 

Adam Obrecht and Mason Steckler both had 2 hits with Steckler having a pair of RBI and Obrecht scored a pair of runs. Brody Schultes, Carson Wessel, Colton Hansen all had a pair of RBI. Hayden Larsen scored twice. 

The Wheelers fall to 1-4 and will travel to Riverside on Monday.

Game one of two for CRB against Lenox on Friday was a win. Cal Heydon pitched 5 innings with 10 strikouts and only 3 hits. Parker Hays had a couple of singles to get runners on the bags with 2 RBIs. Ty Heydon had a. RBI double and a pair of singles while Blake Heydon got am RBI single. CRB won 10-7.

Coon Rapids Bayard completed the sweep of the doubleheader, winning the second game 10-6. Max Shirbroun started on the hill and combined with Caden Oswald and Ty Heydon to allow 2 hits, strikeout 6 and walk 8. Ty Heydon was credited with the win, going the last two innings. Cal Heydon nearly hit for the cycle, finishing with a single, double and a triple. Ty Heydon had a pair of singles with 2 RBI, Tyler Mohr also singled twice, driving in 3 RBI. Parker Hays doubled home a run and Caden Oswald added an RBI single.

The pair of wins moves the Crusaders to 4-0. They host Woodbine on Monday on KIKD 1-6.7.
