Girls State Singles and Doubles Results Friday, May 30th 

Kaylie Simons and the doubles team of Sophia Tidgren and Charlotte Schwabe advanced into Saturday at the State Girls Tennis Tournament. Simons went 2-1 in singles play, winning her opening round 6-4, 6-4 over a familiar foe in Riley Nothwehr of Clarinda. She fell in the quarterfinals to Claire Smock of Pella but bounced back to win her consolation bracket matchup 6-4, 7-5 over Kennedy Harms of Grinnell. She will face Natalie Steele of Fairfield and could still play for 5th place.

Sophia Tidgren and Charlotte Schwabe took a similar path, winning their opening round 6-2, 7-5 over Sydney Namminga and Kytilin of Pella, advancing to the quarterfinals. They dropped both sets in the semifinals, falling 6-2, 6-4 to Addy Joslin and Lauren Muller of Dike New Hartford. They moved into the consolation bracket against Kennedy Graettinger and Brynn Merchant of Spencer. The Kuemper duo won 2-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6) to advance to Saturday. They face Peyton Klooster and Adria Neymeyer of Aplington Parkersburg.

They all start at 9:30 Saturday morning.
