Carroll hosted Winterset in their first conference game of the year. The Tigers held strong throughout the start of the game. 5 Innings of the game went scoreless. Both teams found themselves with runners on the bags throughout the first 5 but they were stranded. Winterset found the board in the 6th inning as they got 2 runs to get the 2-0 lead. Carroll did not find the answer for the Huskies late surge as they find 2 more runs in the 7th to win 4-0.

Audubon hosted Underwood for baseball on Wednesday. Audubon got out to a slow start as Underwood got 8 runs in the 1st inning. Underwood caught fire as well in the 2nd inning they got 5 more runs. Audubon struggled at the plate as they were held scoreless throughout the ball game. Underwood scored 2 more runs in the 4th to close out the game 15-0.

Coon Rapids-Bayard traveled to ACGC on Wednesday. The Crusaders came into the game as a ranked team and they have had plenty of expectations for this year. They lived up to them in game 1, getting a strong effort from the pitching staff, allowing 3-runs in the 3rd inning but shutting down the Chargers the rest of the game. The offense started a little slow but rallied late, getting clutch hits and working the Chargers pitchers deep in to the count. The Crusaders walked six times, setting up their top of the order to drive in runs. Coon Rapids Bayard trailed 3-2 heading into the 4th but tied the game, then took the lead in the 5th. A pair of insurance runs in the 6th gave them their final cushion.
Ty Heydon had a monster game at the plate, hitting a home run along with a double. He finished with 3 hits, 2 RBI and scored a run. Cal Heydon added a double as part of a 3 hit game. Cal drove in a pair of runs and scored once. Parker Hays scored twice, stealing 3 bases. The Crusaders finished the game 9 for 9 in stolen bases with Cal Heydon adding 3 stolen bases and Caden Oswald a pair of them.
The Crusaders start the season 1-0 and will head to Exira-EHK on Thursday.

South Central Calhoun clubbed out nine hits, with a pair of doubles, helping them score 12 runs in their second win of the season. The pitching was as good as the hitting, allowing only six hits while striking out five. The Titans took an early lead, pushing a pair of runs across the plate in the 1st inning, but found themselves behind 3-2 after the Wolverines scored three times in the top of the 3rd. South Central Calhoun responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half, going up 4-3. They separated themselves with a four run 4th, then put the game away with two runs in both the 5th and 6th innings.
The top of the order had a productive night at the plate with Andrew Anderson having double as part of two hits and scoring three times. Aidan Albright had a pair of hits, driving in a run and scoring a run. Cooper Nattress scored three times and Charlie Nattress doubled and drove in a pair of runs. The Titans pitched five guys with Charlie Nattress earning the win, going 2 innings, allowing 1 hit with 3 strikeouts.
The Titans moved to 2-2 overall and will host SE Valley on Thursday.
