Class 2A-3A 9:00-2:00
The East Sac Girls Shuttle Hurdle opened the windy and cool day at the State Track Meet at 9:00 along with Olivia Rowedder of Carroll in the Discus and Tristin Gorden of South Central Calhoun in the Shot Put. Haley Jo King, Libbie Veit, Madison Meister and Wendie Veit teamed up to run a new school record for East Sac, finishing in 10th place overall and 3rd in their heat with a 1:09.33. Olivia Rowedder just missed the finals of the 3A discus, taking 11th with a 114-05 while Tristin Gorden of South Central Calhoun had her best throw on her 1st attempt, going 36-09, finishing in 15th. Iris Melody battled a hip injury all season and got caught up with another runner early in her 3000 Meters, falling down. She recovered to finish in 19th with a 11:20.70. Redge Potts of South Central Calhoun and Riley Aragon of East Sac both competed in the boys 2A 3200 Meters. Potts started slow and moved up the pack to finish 12th with a 9:57.07 and Aragon ran a steady pace, finishing in 23rd with a 10:23.37. Jace Pedersen of South Central Calhoun took 17th in the Shot Put with a 47-10.75, Morgan Masching of Kuemper was 16th in the Long Jump with a 16-00.00. The Kuemper Boys 4×800 finished 24th with Ryan Sundrup, Fletch Badding, Wyatt Wunschel and Thomas Pottebaum. They ran an 8:34.53. Mya Ridgely was 4th in her heat in the 100 preliminaries, finishing 14th overall for South Central Calhoun with a 12.82.
Class 1A 2:00-7:40
Trevon Keely of Paton Churdan became the first area athlete to medal in the 2025 State Track, getting his best jump in the Long Jump of 21-00.75 on his 3rd attempt in preliminaries. That moved him into the finals where he finished 7th, earning a medal. Cal Heydon of Coon Rapids Bayard earned another medal in the Shot Put, taking 2nd place with a 52-09.25. He was in 2nd the entire event. The Coon Rapids Bayard Girls Shuttle Hurdle had a tremendous race, moving into Saturday’s Finals with a 6th place finish. Lauren Cook, Aubrey Hofbauer, Amelia Eddy and Malia Clayburg ran a 1;09.72. IKM-Manning Girls ran a clean race in the Shuttle Hurdle, finishing in 18th place with a 1:11.67 with Grace Carroll, Oriah Meiners, Anna Stangl and Olivia Linde. Jace Starman of IKM-Manning moved up with a strong performance in the Shot Put, throwing a 44-00.50 to finish 17th and Lane Meyer of Audubon finished 24th with a 40-00.75. The Audubon Boys and Coon Rapids Bayard Boys Shuttle Hurdle teams competed with Audubon finishing in 16th place with Gabe Jensen, Mason Steckler, Brody Schultes and Carson Wessel in 1:03.88. The Crusaders were 20th overall in 1:04.62 with Johnny Cortez, Parker Hays, Lucas Obert and Caden Oswald. Trevon Keely competed in his second event of the day, taking 10th in the 200 Meters with a strong start, running a PR in 22.68. The IKM-Manning Girls 4×800 had a nice run with Taylor Beckendorf, Addisyn Bandow, Raegan Garrison and Katelyn Bandow. They finished in 10:34.51. The IKM-Manning Boys 4×800 set a new PR with an 8:26.00 taking 2nd in their heat and 9th overall with Isaac Blankman, Ben Ramsey, Wyatt Danner and Tyson Smith. Caden Oswald of Coon Rapids Bayard moved into the finals in the 100 Meters, finishing with an 11.20 to qualify 8th. Oswald had to deal with two false starts from other runners, restarting his race three times. Addisyn Bandow of IKM-Manning took 22nd in the 400 Meters, running a 1:03.84.
