Boys Soccer Results Saturday, May 10th 

Ballard, Denison Schleswig and Sioux City West At Carroll Tournament

Carroll won a game that was close all the way, though Carroll felt like they were in control of most of the game. The Tigers defense was sharp with Jameson Polking playing an outstanding game and Jeisson Avilez came up big with a couple stops. Carroll controlled the ball on the Ballard end most of the 1st half, scoring with 24:15 left as Landon Petersen took a free quick and Quinten Polking headed it into the back of the net. The Tigers defense did the rest, holding the Bombers attempts to a minimum with Jeisson Avilez finishing with 4 saves. Carroll finished with six shots on goal from five players, led by Landon Petersen with 2 shots.

Carroll advanced into the finals against Denison Schleswig, which defeated Sioux City West 7-2.

The Tigers struggled in the 1st half as the Monarchs blitzed them with 9 goals in the 1st half. They added a goal in the 2nd half to end the game with a 10-0 victory. Carroll had one shot, taken by Landon Petersen while Jeisson Avilez finished with 17 saves as the Monarchs kept the Tigers on their heels.

Sioux City West beat Ballard 6-4 in the 3rd place game.
