Girls Soccer Results Friday, May 9th 

Carroll At Kuemper

Kuemper scored a pair  of early goals in the 1st half, grabbing an early lead. Carroll settled in defensively in the 1st half, holding the Knights scoreless the rest of the half, trailing 2-0 at half. Kuemper used another spurt to start the 2nd half, scoring 3 goals in the 8:30 to take a 5-0 lead and put the game out of reach.

Cierra Pudenz started fast for Kuemper for the second straight year, scoring the first goal with 38:25 left. She found Mia Milligan with 32:51 left in the half with a perfect corner kick that Milligan beautifully headed into the net. Carroll held tough the rest of the half but Kuemper kept the pressure on. The Tigers struggled to get the ball on their offensive end, not getting a shot on goal in the 1st half. The defense kept them in the game with Kuemper leading 2-0 at half. Kalie Hausman put Kuemper on the board early in the 2nd half, scoring with 39:13 left in the game. Mackenzie Yetmar got into the scoring column, finding the back of the net with 34:12, giving Kuemper a 4-0 lead. Cailyn Pudenz extended the lead to 5-0, scoring the first of her two goals with 31:22 left. Carroll did a nice job of keeping the Knights at bay for about 10:00 but Kuemper broke through again with Mia Milligan scoring her second goal with 22:06 remaining. Cailyn Pudenz added her second goal on a night she played very well. Megan Kies wrapped up the scoring with a goal with 11:05 left, giving Kuemper an 8-0 lead. Sadie Kelly and Jersey Sporrer both had a late shot on goal for Carroll with Addy Anthofer able to make the  save.

Mia Milligan and Cailyn Pudenz both scored a pair of goals for Kuemper with Addy Anthofer adding a pair of saves. Marin Overmohle had 13 saves for Carroll with Sadie Kelly and Jersey Sporrer both having 2 shots.

Kuemper improves to 10-3-1 with Carroll falling to 1-14. The Knights host West Central Valley on Monday. Carroll entertains North Polk on Tuesday.

East Sac rallied in the 2nd half after trailing 2-1 at half and 3-1 early  in the 2nd half. The Raiders had chances to win late, taking five shots in the final minutes but weren’t able to score and the game ended tied at 3.

East Sac scored first with Sarah Bontrager finding Chloe Bieret for a goal with 35:00 left in the 1st half. The Raiders were in control early, not allowing the Dodgers to get a shot until the final 10:00 of the half. Fort Dodge broke through with 9:16 left in the half, taking the lead with just under 6:00 left in the half. The Dodgers led the Raiders 2-1 at half. The Dodgers lead grew to 3-1 with 29:00 left in the game but East Sac kept fighting. Chloe Bieret gave East Sac some momentum, scoring with 26:29 left in the game, pulling the Raiders within 3-2. Bieret completed the hat trick with her third goal with 18:52 remaining. East Sac had more chances down the stretch to win but neither team could find the net, ending the game in a tie.

Chloe Bieret finished with a hat trick, scoring all 3 of the Raiders goals. Sarah Bontrager had an assist and Jordin Carroll  had 3 shots. Denae Thayer ended the match with 10 saves.

The Raiders move to 3-7-3 on the season and head to Greene County next Friday.
