Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Kuemper Boys Tennis Sends Players to Atlantic on Saturday

Boys Tennis Results Saturday, April 26th 

Kuemper At Atlantic Tournament 

 

Kuemper took a pair of doubles teams to play at the Atlantic Tournament on Saturday, finishing in 2nd place in #1 doubles and 8th place in #2 doubles. The Knights went 2-4 in matches, finishing 6-9 in sets played. Max Reincke and Braxton Lu moved into the finals in #1 doubles with a two sets to 1 win over Ezra Bartell and Damein Smith of Newton and a sweep of Connor Johnson and Reid Woodward of Atlantic. They were 4-1 in sets heading into a finals match with Luke Doust and Ryan Lawrence of Shenandoah. Reincke and Lu won set two, 6-2 after dropping the opening set but fell 10-6 in the 3rd set to finish in 2nd place. They went 5-3 in sets played and were 2-1 in matches played. Emmett Juergens and John Janssen finished 8th in #2 doubles, going 0-3 in matches and 1-6 in sets played. They battled hard in their 7th place match, winning the first set, 6-3 but dropped the next two sets 6-2 and a tight 10-8 final set.

The Knights with limited team participants finished 6th as a team with 8 points.

They head to Sioux City North on Monday.

Ethan Strunk and Dillan Rydberg of Red Oak won 6-4, 6-3 over Emmett Juergens and John Janssen of Kuemper

7th Place Match 

Carson Beer and Dylan Dornack of Creston won 3-6, 6-2, 10-8 over Emmett Juergens and John Janssen of Kuemper
