Ballard At Carroll

Ballard 4

Carroll 1

Ballard used the wind at their back to control the ball most of the 1st half, wearing down the Tigers defense, helping them score three goals in the final 9:39 of the half. The Bombers scored their first goal with 23.34 left in the 1st half on a shot that hit off the top of the goal before ricocheting off the Tigers and into their goal. The Tigers defense held firm against good pressure after that until Ballard pushed a shot across the goal with 9:39 left in the half. They were able to do a nice job using the wind and scoring on deep shots, sliding a couple long shots into the goal that sailed in the wind. Ballard built a 4-0 lead at half. Carroll had the wind in the 2nd half, putting pressure on the Ballard defense collecting 7 of their 9 shots on goal in the 2nd half. The Bombers were able to defend the attacks well before Carroll took advantage of a corner kick. Landon Petersen sent it to the net and Kieran Polking scored on the play with 2:33 left in the game. The Bombers held on to win 4-1.

Kieran Polking scored the Tigers lone goal with 4 shots on goal, Nolan Stitz added 2 shots on goal with Landon Petersen making an assist. Jeisson Avilez made 10 saves.

The loss drops Carroll to  3-3 overall and 1-2 in the Raccoon River Conference. Carroll heads to Carlisle on Monday.
