Girls Track Results Monday, April 14th
Audubon, IKM-Manning, Kuemper and South Central Calhoun At Carroll Co-Ed
The kids battled the wind all evening and even some light rain during the meet on Monday as the area schools combined to win six events and set at least one personal best. Carroll led the area teams with four titles, helping them finish 4th with 79 points. The Tigers added a pair of 2nd and 3rd place finishes. IKM-Manning didn’t have a champion but showed great depth with a 2nd place along with five events finishing in 3rd. The Wolves scored 59 points, finishing 6th, just behind Greene County with 61 points. South Central Calhoun had one title along with a pair of 2nd and one-3rd place, finishing in 8th with 40 points. Kuemper added a champion and a 3rd place finish, competing well in the field events. Audubon took 6th in three events with low numbers of girls available with State FFA Convention this week. The Wheelers were 11th with 3 points.
Carroll won a pair of relays and two individual events. The Sprint Medley ran a 1:59.34 to win with Marasyn Wittrock, Macy Simmelink, Maggie Dirkx and Katelyn Aden. Maggie Dirkx and Katelyn Aden were also part of the championship Shuttle Hurdle team along with Olivia Rowedder and Macy Schaefer. They ran a 1:14.52. Olivia Rowedder won the Discus title, right after running in the Shuttle Hurdle, throwing a 117-07 while Katelyn Aden added a title in the 400 Hurdles in 1:10.52. Maggie Dirkx took 2nd in the 400 Hurdles and Emma Kuhlmann was 2nd in the Shot Put. Macy Simmelink was 3rd in the Long Jump and Carroll was 3rd in the 4×200 with Marasyn Wittrock, Macy Simmelink, Aubrie Drake and Brylee Mrla.
Taylor Beckendorf, Karlee Arp, Katelyn Bandow and Kori Beckendorf finished 2nd for IKM-Manning in the 4×800. The Wolves added 3rd places in both the Distance Medley with Taylor Beckendorf, Karlee Arp, Caylie Rasmussen and Addisyn Bandow and the 4×400 with Taylor Beckendorf, Macy Rasmussen, Katelyn Bandow and Addisyn Bandow. Olivia Linde took 3rd in both the High Jump and the 100 Hurdles and Raegan Garrison was 3rd in the 1500 Meters.
Tristin Gorden added another title this season, winning the Shot Put with a 38-08.25. Iris Melody ran a pair of strong races, taking 2nd in both the 3000 Meters and 1500 Meters. Brenna McAlister fought to finish 3rd in a strong 400 Meters.
Morgan Masching took her first-three jumps in the Long Jump, went and ran a 100 Meters, battling an injury, then returned to set a personal best in the Long Jump to clinch the title with a 16-03.00. Addison Schon continues to show her future is bright as the freshman was 3rd in the Shot Put.
Audubon took 6th in a pair of relays with Brooklynn Snider, Liv Inman, Jaelynn Petersen and Kadence Sporrer in the Sprint Medley and Emily Foran, Zoey Rasmussen, Brooklynn Snider and Riley Miller in the Distance Medley. Jaelynn Petersen was 6th in the Long Jump.
