Carroll and Kuemper faced off at the muni today in a battle of two teams and one town. The weather was the only concern with the high wind speeds and off and on rain made it a little weary. This was the season opener for both teams and there were signs when it came to some holes. The nerves were high but both teams came to compete. Addy Beiter was the medalist with a 41. Elsa Tiefenthaler was runner-up with a 45

East Sac edged South Central Calhoun for the team title in a tight match on Thursday as the players battled a windy afternoon in Sac City. The Raiders had a slight advantage in the third golfer spot to earn the win. Glidden Ralston only had two golfers, so weren’t able to collect a team score. The Raiders and Titans both had all four of their scorers shoot 56 or below. Ella Wilson of East Sac and Adlen Wheelock of South Central Calhoun both shot 46 to lead their teams. They had to go to a one-hole playoff to determine the Medalist and Runner-Up Medalist honors. Wheelock won the Medalist, shooting a 4 on the extra hole with Wilson finishing with a 5. McKenna Steiger and Kendall Quirk both shot 50 for East Sac and Sophia Villegas added a 56. Charissa Nowatzke had a strong round for South Central Calhoun, shooting a 49 with Sophia Wuebker scoring a 54 and Kyra Bruns adding a 55. Emmersynn Chaney led the Wildcats with a 68 and Madilyn Trost shot a 69.

Adlen Wheelock shot par on hole 6 and was consistent with six bogeys. Charissa Nowatzke also par hole 6 along with hole 3 for the Titans.

The Raiders had a strong number of players shoot par. McKenna Steiger on hole 6, Kendall Quirk on holes 4 and 6, Ella Wilson on hole 4 and Sophia Villegas on hole 4.

The Raiders host Storm Lake St Mary’s, Alta-Aurelia and Manson NW Webster on Monday. South Central Calhoun travels to St Edmond on Friday.
