Boys State Qualifying Wrestling Results Saturday, February 15th
Carroll and Kuemper At Heelan- Class 2A
Kuemper sends four wrestlers to the State Tournament with Carroll advancing three wrestlers to next week’s State meet. The Tigers finished in 2nd place in the team standings with 186 points with Kuemper in 3rd with 114 points. Kuemper went 17-14 in matches wrestled with 13 wins by fall, 2 by decision, a major decision and a sudden victory. Carroll was 27-18 in matches wrestled with 21 wins by fall, 2 tech falls, 2 major decisions, a decision and an ultimate tie-breaker.
Coby Pierce (215) gave Kuemper champion, going 3-0 with a win by fall and two by decisions. Caleb Hoffman (120), Owen Nepple (126) and Reid Steger (285) all finished in 2nd with all three going 2-1. Hoffman and Nepple both had two wins by fall while Steger had a win by fall and a sudden victory.
