The Kuemper Knights played great defense on Friday, but they fell on the road at Shenandoah. The Knights are on a three-game losing streak despite playing good basketball. The Knights fell down early in the first quarter as they would trial 13-9. In the second quarter, Kuemper would outscore Shenandoah 15-12 as they were able to cut into the lead. The Knights would trail 25-24 at the half. The third quarter would be back and forth as both teams came out and traded baskets. Shenandoah would grow their lead in the third quarter as they outscored Kuemper 12-11 in the quarter. The fourth quarter was the difference of the game as Shendoah’s lead would grow. The Knights were outscored in the quarter 16-10. The Knights would go on to lose 53-45.
Kuemper was great on the glass, pulling down 31 rebounds as a team. The Knights also had two players score in double figures. Elsa Tiefenthaler recorded a team-high 13 points and six rebounds. Morgan Masching was efficient on the offensive end, scoring 11 points and shooting 50 percent from the field. Addy Anthofer and Karsyn Overmohle each pulled down six rebounds. With the loss, Kuemper falls to 10-11. The Knights are back in action on Monday against Remsen St. Mary’s.

The Carroll Tigers won their seventh straight game, knocking off Ballard at home on Friday. The Tigers led the whole game and played great defense in the win. The Tigers gained the lead in the first quarter from the opening tip, jumping out to a 57-34 lead. The Tigers would grow their lead in the second quarter, outscoring Ballard 10-6. Carroll took a 26-15 lead at the half. The third quarter was low-scoring but back and forth. The Tigers added 11 points in the quarter as they grew their lead to 37-24. Carroll’s highest-scoring quarter would come in the fourth as they outscored Ballard 201-0. The Tigers would go on to win 57-34. Three different players scored in double figures for the Tigers. Katelyn Aden scored a team-high 15 points. Chloe Kock added 11 points in the win. Sophia Tidgren knocked down three threes and scored 10 points for Carroll. Olivia Rowedder pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. With the win, Carroll moves to 15-4. The Tigers are back in action on Saturday against Denison-Schleswig.

The Glidden-Ralston Wildcats picked up a Rolling Valley Conference win at home on Friday as they knocked off Ar-We-Va. The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter. Glidden-Ralston would lead 17-4 going to the second quarter. The Rockets would make adjustments during the quarters as they would make a comeback in the second. Ar-We-Va outscored Glidden-Ralston 15-5 in the second quarter. The Wildcats would hold on to a 22-19 lead at the half. Glidden-Ralston would come out of the locker rooms sharp on the offense end. GR would grow their lead to 42-26 going to the fourth quarter. The Wildcats would extend their lead in the fourth quarter as they went on to win 58-38.
The Wildcats were led in scoring by Allison Snyder, who recorded 23 points. Kassidy Wenck added 18 points in the win for Glidden-Ralston. Olivia Squibb chipped in 11 points. Ar-We-Va was led in scoring by Gabbie Handling, who scored 22 points. Azaya Martinez chipped in six points. With the win, Glidden-Ralston moves to 6-13. The Wildcats are back in action on Monday against Coon Rapids-Bayard. The loss drops Ar-We-Va to 3-17. The Rockets return to action on Monday against CAM.

The Wolves defense was fantastic, finishing with 29 steals, led by Keagan Eicheid with 8. The Wolves led 24-12 at the end of the 1st quarter and went up 42-21 at half. Oriah Meiners had a huge offensive game with 21 points. The Wolves maintained their lead in the 2nd half.

A dominant 3rd quarter helped South Central Calhoun get revenge from an earlier season loss to the Cougars as they earned their 9th win of the season. The Titans blew open a tight game in the 3rd, outscoring the Cougars 14-3, taking a 34-20 lead into the final stanza. Both teams scored 16 in the 4th as the Titans matched the Cougars and didn’t allow them to cut into the lead. Blair Schleisman had a team high 21 points to go with 7 rebounds and 7 steals. Bre Patterson added 19 points and 4 steals with Macie Dorman pulling down 5 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists. The Titans moved to 9-10 on the season and will host Sioux Central on Monday.

A dominant 3rd quarter helped Exira-EHK earn their 16th win of the season, topping CAM on the road by seven. Taryn Petersen had another outstanding offensive performance as the Spartans led 20-17 at the end of the 1st quarter. CAM rallied in the 2nd quarter, holding the Spartans in check, while taking a 29-28 lead at half. The Spartans defense has helped them go on spurts all season and they ignited the team in the 3rd. Exira-EHK held CAM to 2 points, taking an eight point lead. CAM trailed to rally in the 4th but Taryn Petersen and Jaelynn Petersen finished off strong games,helping them win by seven. Taryn Petersen had a team high 30 points with Jaelynn Petersen adding 12 points. Riley Miller added 6 points and Kadence Sporrer ended with 5 points. The Spartans are 16-4 overall and will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday hosting Underwood.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders move one step closer to claiming an outright Rolling Valley Conference title as they beat Boyer Valley on Friday. The Crusaders would jump out to a big lead early in the first half as it built to double-digits. CRB would lead 16-9 going to the second quarter. Coon Rapids-Bayard built their lead to double-digits in the second quarter. Going into the half, the Crusaders led 31-21. CRB came out flat in the third quarter as Boyer Valley made a comeback. Coon Rapids-Bayard only scored nine points in the quarter. Boyer Valley would pull within four, going to the fourth quarter at 40-36. CRB grew their lead again in the fourth quarter as they pulled away and picked up a 47-38 win. Ella Heithoff scored a team-high 12 points in the win. Ann Hart chipped in 11 points and five assists for the Crusaders. Melia Clayburg pulled down a team-high seven rebounds for CRB. With the win, the Crusaders move to 15-4. Coon Rapids-Bayard is back in action on Monday against Glidden-Ralston.

The first quarter was low scoring as the Raiders would fall down 9-8 going to the second. East Sac would play great defense in the second quarter, holding Southeast Valley scoreless to take the lead. ESC would take a 27-9 lead at the half. The Raiders would keep rolling in the second half as they added 14 points in the third quarter. ESC would go on to win 58-26. Makenna Steiger shot the ball great as she knocked down five threes in the win. Steiger recorded a team-hihg 19 points. Off the bench, Chloe Bieret chipped in 10 points. Kendall Quirk pulled down 12 rebounds and added nine points. With the win, ESC moves to 9-11. The Raiders are back in action on Tuesday against South Central Calhoun.
