The Carroll Tigers complete a second-half comeback as they knock off Winterset at home on Friday. Carroll fell down by double digits in the first half. Winterset shot the ball excellently in the first half. Carroll would trail 17-10 at the end of the first quarter. Winterset would grow their lead in the second quarter as they outscored Carroll 11-7. The Tigers would trail by 11 at the half, 28-17. Carroll struggled on the offensive end in the first half and made adjustments to get it going in the second half. Carroll would cut into the Winterset lead in the third quarter, and they outscored the Huskies 20-15. Winterset would see their double-digit lead disappear as they lead Carroll 43-37 going to the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, Carroll was able to get out and run in transition as they would outscore Winterset by 13 in the quarter. The Tigers outscored Winterset 24-11 in the fourth quarter. The Tigers would complete the comeback as they would go on to win 61-54.
Carroll had three players score in double figures. Stone Sibenaller and Jared Mohr each had a team-high 17 points in the win. Mac Collison chipped in ten points for the Tigers. The Knights were able to speed up Lewis Central on the offensive end as they jumped out to a quick 19-0 lead in the first quarter. The Knights would lead 32-13 going to the second quarter. The Knights would outscore Lewis Central 16-8 in the second quarter. Kuemper would lead 41-21 at the half. Both teams came out of the locker rooms adjusting to what they saw in the first half. The third quarter was high scoring as Kuemper would outscore Lewis Central 22-21 in the quarter. The Knights would grow their lead in the fourth quarter as they went on to win 80-56.
The Knights had four players score in double digits. Ryan Clair scored a team-high 25 points on 10-14 shooting for the field. Clair also pulled down ten rebounds in the win. Off the bench, Dylan Schon added 14 points and nine rebounds. Griffin Glynn chipped in 13 points for the Knights off the bench. Brock Badding recorded 12 points in the win. The Wheelers fell down early in the game and used a big third and second quarter to pick up the win. The Wheelers would trail 19-3 at the end of the first quarter. Audubon made adjustments between the first and second quarters as they held Tri-Center to four points in the quarter. Audubon would outscore Tri-Center 17-4 in the second quarter. The Wheelers would trail at the half 23-20. The Wheelers would keep the pressure up defensively in the third quarter as they outscored the Trojans 19-9. Audubon would take the lead into the fourth quarter at 39-32. Audubon would have their best quarter offensively in the fourth as they added 26 points. The Wheelers would go on to win 65-57. Three Wheeler players scored in double figures in the win. Brody Schultes recorded a team-high 18 points in the win. Austin Christensen added 17 points for the Wheelers. The game was physical, and the Wildcats had to adjust to the style of play. Glidden-Ralston would lead 28-18 at the half. Boyer Valley was able to cut the lead to single digits in the third quarter. The Wildcats would hold on to a 41-32 lead going to the fourth quarter. The physicality of the game picked up in the fourth quarter. Glidden-Ralston outscored Boyer Valley 13-9 in the quarter. The Wildcats would go on to win 54-41. Jonathan Bergmeier led the way offensively with 17 points for the Wildcats. Waylon Hein chipped in ten points. With the win, Glidden-Ralston moves to 10-7.
