Area Girls Wrestling Results For Friday, January 31st
Carroll, Kuemper, and Audubon at Red Oak
Four area wrestlers punched their ticket to the state wrestling tournament next week, coming away with first and second-place finishes at the district meet in Red Oak. Only one of the wrestlers came away with a first-place finish. In the team race, Carroll finished in ninth place with a score of 72. Audubon was right behind in tenth place with a team score of 62. The Kuemper Knights finished in 11th place out of eighteen teams with a score of 42. The Audubon Wheelers had two girls qualify for the state tournament. Macy Rasmussen of Auduon finished in first place at 115 pounds, going 3-0 with three pins and a win by decision. Jordan Mulford for Audubon finished in second place at 105. Mulford went 2-1, picking up a win in the second-place match to punch her ticket. Carroll had the other two state qualifies as Emma Daniels and Bri Kiger pick up second place finishes. Daniels went 2-1, picking up a win in the second-place match to qualify for the state tournament. Kiger also went 2-1, losing in the championship match to Rasmussen of Audubon.

The South Central Calhoun Titans and East Sac County Raiders competed in Sioux Central on Friday, trying to punch tickets to the girl’s state tournament next week in Iowa City. Two girls came out of the meet, punching their tickets to the state tournament. Emery Kramer and Meia Hefley both finished in second place for the Titans. Kramer finished in second at 115 pounds, going 2-1 at the meet. Kramer lost in the championship match. Hefley finished second in the 140-pound weight class. Hefley went 3-1, picking up a win in the second-place match to punch her ticket to the state tournament.
