For a second straight Saturday, Kuemper had to battle back to earn a win after struggling early. Des Moines Christian took advantage of a sluggish start by the Knights, playing well while building a 21-12 at the end of the 1st quarter. Kuemper struggled early in the 2nd quarter but put things together late, closing the half on a 12-0 run to lead 30-28 at half. Dylan Schon had 8 points in the 1st half, helping the Knights rally. The momentum at the end of the half extended in the 2nd half as Kuemper used a 39-14 run after falling down 28-18 to lead 57-32 heading to the 4th quarter. Kuemper struggled from beyond the arc but had some success inside. They shot 55.6% from 2-point range but only 24% from three, going 6-25. The offense was balanced with six players scoring between nine and 18 points. The Knights headed to the 4th quarter looking like they would win going away but Des Moines Christian rallied to within four. Kuemper held on for a 78-72 win.
Brock Badding paced the offense with 18 points and 6 rebounds, Ryan Clair added 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and blocked 3 shots. Dylan Schon had 13 points and 3 steals, Griffin Glynn had 10 points and 7 rebounds and Jack Badding had 10 points and 8 rebounds.
Kuemper improves to 17-1 overall, winning their 10th straight. They host Lewis Central on Friday with the lead in the Hawkeye on the line.

Carroll earned their third straight win, creeping closer to .500 on the season, having three guys score in double figures and six guys score between 7 and 13 points. The Tigers got out early, outscoring the Norsemen in all four quarters. Carroll was up 12-7 at the end of the 1st quarter, extending it to 30-19 at half. Jared Mohr led the Tigers and helped them pull away in the 3rd. He had 13 points through three quarters as Carroll pushed their lead to 47-27 going into the 4th quarter. Roland Story tried to battle back in the 4th but Carroll held them off, outscoring them 16-13.
Jared Mohr finished with a team high 13 points, adding 4 steals. Carter Essick and Trey Tassell both had 10 points with Essick pulling down 5 rebounds. Landon Petersen added 8 points with Noah Hinners and Blake Molinsky both scoring 7 points. Miles Nuzback had 6 rebounds.
The win improves Carroll to 5-7 as they prepare to head to ADM on Monday.
