The Kuemper Knights picked up their tenth win as they picked up a Hawkeye Ten victory over Creston on Friday. Kuemper was able to build a double-digit lead early in the first quarter. Kuemper would lead 18-5 going to the second quarter. The Knights played great defense in the first half, holding Creston to 15 points. Kuemper would outscore Creston 15-10 in the second quarter. Going into the half, Kuemper would lead 33-15. Creston was able to cut into the Kuemper lead in the third quarter. Kuemper struggled to score the basketball in the third quarter. The Knights would hold on to a 42-33 lead going to the fourth quarter. Kuemper outscored Creston in the fourth quarter, and they would go on to win 54-42.

Kuemper hit eight threes in the win. The Knights were led by Kaylie Simons, who scored 17 points. Elsa Tiefenthaler chipped in 11 points for Kuemper. As a team, Kuemper pulled down 36 rebounds. Alivia Schenkelberg had a team-high eight rebounds in the win. With the win, Kuemper moves to 10-8. The Knights are back in action next Friday against Lewis Central.

Exira-EHK knocks off Ar-We-Va in a matchup of two local teams. With the win Exira-EHK picks up their 11th win of the season. The Spartans would jump out to an early lead 21-4 going to the second quarter. Ar-We-Va struggled with turnovers in the first half as they would be down 39-9 at the half. The Rockets would add five points in the third quarter as Exira-EHK’s lead would continue to grow. The Spartans held Ar-We-Va scoreless in the fourth quarter as they would go on to win 56-14. The Spartans had three players score in double figures. Taryn Petersen had a team-high 13 points for Exira-EHK. Jaelynn Petersen chipped in 11 points. Zoey Rasmussen added 10 for the Spartans. Ar-We-Va was led in scoring by Amber Ragaller and Gabbie Hundling, who each scored four points. With the win, Exira-EHK moves to 11-3. The Spartans are back in action on Saturday against Van Meter. With the loss, Ar-We-Va falls to 3-11. The Rockets are back in action on Monday against IKM-Manning.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders defend their home quart as they knock off Paton Churdan on Friday. The Crusaders were able to jump out to a big lead in the first quarter. Paton Churdan did not score in the first quarter, as they would be down 11-0. CRB continued to grow its lead in the second quarter. The Crusaders would lead 22-3 at the half. CRB came out of the locker room and found some success on offense. Paton Churdan was outscored 21-1 in the quarter. The Crusaders would hold PC scoreless in the fourth quarter as they went on to win 50-4. Malia Clayburg led CRB in scoring with 11 points. Clayburg also added eight rebounds and five steals. Ella Heitoff chipped in 10 points and three steals in the win. Grace Cullum scored two points in the loss for PC. With the win, CRB moves to 11-2. The loss drops PC to 1-14. The Crusaders are back in action on Monday against Ogden. The Rockets return to the court on Thursday against West Central Valley.

East Sac County picked up a Twin Lakes Conference win as they knocked off Alta-Aurelia at home on Friday. ESC ended a two-game losing streak with the win. The Raiders were able to build an early lead in the first half. Going to the second quarter, East Sac would lead 19-8. The Raiders were great on the offensive end of the court in the first half. ESC would grow their lead in the second quarter as they took a 34-22 lead into the locker rooms. The third quarter would be back and forth as both teams traded baskets. The Raiders would take a 45-32 lead going to the fourth quarter. Alta-Aurelia would try to come back in the fourth quarter as they would cut the ESC lead to single digits. The Raiders would hold on to win 52-45.

ESC had three players score in double figures. Makenna Steiger had a great game, recording a team-high 17 points. Addisen Ehler added 17 points and 14 rebounds. Sarah Bontrager chipped in 12 points. The Raiders hit six threes in the win. ESC also recorded 35 rebounds as a team. With the win, ESC moves to 7-8. The Raiders are back in action on Tuesday against Manson Northwest Webster.
