The Carroll Tigers fell down early and need a big fourth quarter to complete a comeback as they knocked off Carlisle at home on Thursday. The Tigers played good defense in the second and fourth quarters. Carroll would fall down by double digits in the first quarter as they trailed 19-5. Carroll came storming back in the second quarter but still trailed at the half. Carroll outscored Carlisle 19-13 in the quarter. The Tigers would trail 32-24 at the half. Clarlisle’s lead would slightly grow in the third quarter as they outscored Carroll 19-18, 51-42. The Tigers needed a big fourth quarter, and they were able to capitalize. The Tiger’s defense held Carlisle to three points in the quarter. Carroll would score 13 points, making a basket late in the quarter to put them ahead. Carroll would go on to win 55-54.

Four players scored in double digits for Carroll. Jared Mohr recorded a team-high 17 points in the win. Mohr also had a team-high four blocks. Miles Nuzbak chipped in 16 points and added seven rebounds. Stone Sibenaller and Noah Hinners each added 10 points for the Tigers. With the win, Carroll moves to 4-7. The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday against ADM.

The Ar-We-Va Rockets pick up their second straight win and tenth of the season as they knock off West Harrison at home. The game started close as Ar-We-Va would hold a small lead. The Rockets led 13-12 going to the second quarter. Ar-We-Va was able to build their lead in the second quarter as they played lockdown defense. West Harrison only managed four points in the quarter as Ar-We-Va grew their lead to 31-16. The Rockets continued to grow their lead in the second half. Ar-We-Va would go on to win 61-38 over West Harrison. The Rockets had two players score in double digits. Wyatt Ragaller recorded a team-high 14 points in the win. Blayne Smith chipped in 11 points for Ar-We-Va and pulled down 12 rebounds. Ar-We-Va was great on the defensive end in the win. With the win, the Rockets move to 10-3. Ar-We-Va is back in action on Tuesday against Paton Churdan.

The Audubon Wheelers fell on the road to number nine Treynor on Thursday. The Wheelers trailed the whole game. Audubon struggled on offense in the loss. The loss marks the Wheeler’s fourth in a row. Audubon would trail 16-7 going to the second quarter. Audubon only managed 14 points in the first half. They would trial Treynor 29-14 at the half. Treynor came out of the locker room and added 25 points in the third quarter as they blew the game open. Audubon would go on to lose 70-47. Brody Schultes led the Wheelers in scoring with 13 points. Jorgen Nowatzke chipped in eight points in the loss. Austin Christensen added six points for the Wheelers. With the loss, Audubon falls to 4-7. The Wheelers are back in action on Saturday against Exira-EHK.

The East Sac County Raiders get back on the winning track as they knock off Storm Lake St. Marys on the road. The Raiders were great on the defensive end, holding St. Marys to only 14 points. ESC jumped out to an early 16-1 lead going to the second quarter. ESC would hold St. Marys to only seven points in the first half.  The Raiders would grow their lead to 36-7 at the half. In the second half, ESC was able to empty the bench and get some players valuable minutes in a big win. The Raiders would outscore Storm Lake St. Marys 35-7 in the second half. The Raiders would go on to win 71-14.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusader pick up another win in the Rolling Valley Conference as the knock-off CAM. The first quarter played a big part in the game as the Crusaders were able to jump out to an early lead. Despite the lopsided first quarter, the game would be tight. CRB would jump out to a 17-9 lead going to the second quarter. The Crusaders would grow their lead in the second quarter, leading 30-21 at the half. Both teams added 17 points each in the third quarter. The Crusaders would lead by nine, 47-38, going to the fourth quarter. CAM would attempt a comeback in the final quarter as they outscored CRB by three points. The Crusaders would hold on and win 63-57.

Cal Heydon had a big night for the Crusaders, scoring a team-high 28 points. Caden Oswald and Ty Heydon each added 11 points in the win. Bryce Lewis knocked down three threes for CRB as he chipped in 13 points. Ty Heydon pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. With the win, CRB moves to 10-1. The Crusaders are back in action on Tuesday against West Harrison.

IKM-Manning dropped a tough one on the road Friday after knocking off Tri Center on Tuesday. The Wolves fell down early and kept battling but weren’t able to gain control of the game and put pressure on Riverside. They were down five early but trailed by three at half and were down three entering the 4th quarter. IKM-Manning had only five players score and had one player in double figures. 

Ben Ramsey poured in 27 points with Brock Kusel adding 7 points and Wyatt Danner finishing with 6 points. Kusel led them with 7 rebounds with Wyatt Danner and Karsyn Lorenzen both adding 5 rebounds. Brock Kusel had a team high 3 assists. 

The Wolves fell to 5-6 overall and 3-6 in the Western Iowa Conference. They head to LoMa on Tuesday.

The South Central Calhoun Titans pick up another Twin Lakes Conference win as they beat Alta-Aurelia on the road Thursday. The Titans fell down early in the first quarter but would lead at the half. Alta-Aurelia led 12-11 going to the second quarter. In the second quarter, SCC made defensive adjustments. The Titans would take the lead back at 23-17 at the half. South Central Calhoun would continue to grow their lead in the second half. SCC would lead by nine points at 35-26 going to the fourth quarter. SCC would grow their lead again, scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter and winning 52-36. The Titans had three players in double figures. Evan Myers had a team-high 13 points in the win. Cole Higgins chipped in 12 points for SCC. With the win, South Central Calhoun moves to 7-6. The Titans are back in action on Tuesday against Pocahontas Area.

Glidden Ralston shot the ball well from deep early, then scored at the rim in the 2nd quarter to build an early lead. Paton Churdan hung around early, finding ways to score, down 21-16 at the end of the 1st quarter. The Wildcats were able to gain control of the game late in the 2nd quarter and used the momentum to pull away in the 3rd quarter. They extended a nine point lead to thirteen just before half, then held the Rockets to three points in the 3rd, going up 55-30. The Wildcats attacked on defense and were able to score near the rim in the 3rd. Glidden Ralston maintained the lead in the 4th on their way to the win. 

Jonathan Bergmeier paced the Wildcats with 22 points with Waylon Hein adding a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Dawson Majerus finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds with Lucas Christian scoring 6 points.

Phoenix Hartman led Paton Churdan with 14 points with Trevon Keely ending with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Cayden Stream had 6 points and 5 rebounds and Bryce Stephenson pulled down 7 rebounds. 

The Wildcats improved to 8-6 overall and 6-4 in the Rolling Valley. They host Ogden Monday. The Rockets fall to 5-7 overall and 306 in the Rolling Valley. They host Ar-We-Va on Tuesday.
