The Carroll Tigers pick up another ranked win on the season as they knock off Gilbert at home on Tuesday. The Tigers outscored Gilbert in three of the four quarters. Carroll was able to jump out to a double-digit lead going to the second quarter as they led Gilbert 22-11. Gilbert would outscore Carroll in the second quarter as the Tiger’s lead was cut into. Going into the half, Carroll would lead 31-21. The Tigers would grow their lead in the third quarter as they would add 14 points. Carroll would lead 45-30 going to the fourth. Carroll’s lead would grow again in the fourth quarter as they went on to win 60-34.
Carroll shot the ball great, knocking down nine threes on 42 percent shooting from the three-point line. The Tigers had two players in double figures. Ali Kock and Chloe Kock each recorded a team-high 11 points in the win. Olivia Rowedder pulled down 10 rebounds and added nine points for the Tigers. As a team, Carroll recorded 13 steals against Gilbert. With the win, Carroll moves to 8-3. The Tigers are back in action on Friday against Carlisle.

The Kuemper Knights picked up another Hawkeye Ten win as they knocked off Denison-Schleswig. The Knights led from the start, jumping out to a double-digit lead early. Kuemper leads 18-4 at the end of the first quarter. The Knights lead would grow again as they jumped out to a 35-12 lead at the half. Kuemper emptied the bench in the second half and got some valuable minutes for the girls. The Knights would go on to win 59-25. Kuemper had two players score in double digits. Elsa Tiefenthaler had a team-high 19 points. Kaylie Simons chipped in 12 points in the win. Tiefenthaler also dished out a team-high sevan assists. With the win, Kuemper moves to 8-6. The Knights are back in action on Thursday against Glenwood.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders were great defensively as they knocked off Ar-We-Va at home on Tuesday. The game started close, but CRB was able to grow its lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Ar-We-Va held an early lead at 2-1. The Crusaders were able to take a 4-2 lead on the next possession. CRB would lead 18-4 at the end of the first quarter. CRB held Ar-We-Va to only seven points in the first half. The Rockets struggled with turnovers on the offensive end in the first half. The Crusaders would lead 28-7 at the half. Ar-We-Va was held scoreless in the third quarter. CRB would outscore Ar-We-Va 11-0 in the quarter as their lead would grow to 39-7. The Crusaders would go on to win 46-16.
Aubrey Hofbauer led the Crusaders in scoring with 17 points. Hofbauer was great at the start of the game, as she recorded 15 points in the first half. Anna Hart chipped in nine points in the win. Hart also chipped in 8 steals and six assists. For Ar-We-Va, only three players score in the ball game. Gabbie Hundling recorded a team-high eight points. Noelia Gonzalez and Hallie mcCollough chipped in four points. With the win, CRB moved to 10-1 and 7-0 in the Rolling Valley Conference. Ar-We-Va falls to 2-8 and 1-6 in conference play. The Crusaders are back in action on Friday at CAM. The Rockets return to the hardwood on Thursday against Exira-EHK.

The Spartans would lead 15-13 at the end of the first quarter. Both teams scored nine points in the second quarter as Exira-EHK would hold a slight lead 24-22 lead. Coming out of the locker room, Exira-EHK would pick up their performance on the defensive end. They outscored Woodbine 16-8 in the third quarter. The Spartans would lead 40-30 going to the fourth quarter. The Spartans would go on to win 58-44, knocking off #13 Woodbine. The Spartans were led in scoring by Taryn Petersen, who scored 31 points in the win. Kadence Sporrer added seven points for the Spartans. Alissa Testroet and Jaelynn Petersen chipped in six points. With the win, Exira-EHK moved to 6-3. The Spartans are back in action on Thursday against Ar-We-Va.

The game was tight throughout, leading 15-14 after the 1st quarter but down 33-25 at half, They fought back in the 3rd but weren’t able to close the gap completely. The Titans had 20 turnovers, leading to transition baskets for the Wildcats.
Blair Schleisman had a team high 19 points with 5 rebounds, Bre Patterson had 18 points, Macie Dorman finished with 11 points with 4 assists and Sadie Wheelock added 7 points and 5 assists.
The loss drops the Titans to 5-8 overall heading into their road game with Alta-Aurelia on Friday.
