Carroll earns a huge win at home, knocking off a Gilbert team that was tied for second in the league. A great start put Carroll on top 22-12 at the end of the 1st quarter but a cold 2nd quarter trimmed their lead to 31-29 at half. Balanced scoring helped Carroll hold off Gilbert in the 2nd half, outscoring them 31-27 to edge away.
Three Tigers finished in double figures and Carroll nearly had four players in double figures. Jared Mohr led them with 13 points, adding 3 steals and 3 assists. Mac Collison had 11 points and 4 assists with Stone Sibenaller added 10 points. Carroll distributed the ball well, finishing with 10 assists. Miles Nuzback had a solid game inside with 8 points and 5 rebounds with Noah Hinners adding 6 points and 7 rebounds. Trey Tassell had 6 points.
Carroll improves to 3-7 overall and 2-6 in the Raccoon River Conference. They host Carlisle on 93.7 KKRL on Friday.

Kuemper did what they have done several times this season, wore a team down in the 1st quarter and blown the game open in the 2nd quarter. The Knights were up 18-10 at the end of the 1st quarter, then exploded for 36 points in the 2nd quarter and led 54-17 at half. They continued to shoot the ball well, hitting 67.9% from the field, going 23-29 from inside the arc. They were hot from deep as well, going 15-27 from beyond the arc. The defense had 17 steals, allowing them to get out and run.
Dylan Schon led five guys in double figures, scoring 16 points, Carson Kanne scored 13 points along with dishing out 8 assists along with grabbing 5 rebounds. Griffin Glynn had 12 points with 3 steals, Tregan Beiter scored 11 points with 3 assists and Jack Badding finished with 10 points with 5 steals.
The win improves Kuemper to 11-1 overall. They have a big matchup on Thursday, hosting Glenwood on KIKD 106.7. The Rams entered Tuesday one game behind Kuemper in the loss column.

Audubon nearly recovered from giving up a 13-0 run to open the 4th quarter when Carson Wessel hit a shot off the left block with around 0:15 left, giving the Wheelers a 51-50 lead. They needed a stop, having a chance with Underwood missing a shot with under 0:05 left but the Eagles grabbed on offensive rebound and were fouled. Landon Wigington went to the free throw line with 0:02 left, having hit 1-4 from the line in the game. He calmly hit both free throws, putting the Eagles up 52-51. Audubon got the ball inbounds and Aaron Olsen desperation heave from 3/4 quarter hit the backboard and bounced away as time expired. The Wheelers suffered their third loss by 4 or less points in their last six games, going 2-4 in that stretch.
Underwood scored the first-four points but Audubon responded with Carson Wessel tying the game at 4. The Wheelers didn’t grab a lead but tied the game at 6, 8 and 10 on buckets from Brody Weber, Aaron Olsen and Oliver Deist. Brody Schultes hit a three, pulling them within 13-12 but the Eagles led 16-12 going to the 2nd quarter. A 7-0 Wheelers run to start the 2nd quarter gave them the lead. Oliver Deist scored first, followed by an Aaron Olsen three, putting them up 17-16. Austin Christensen extended the Wheelers lead to 19-16 and they would push the lead to 29020 on a three from Jorgen Nowatzke. Underwood pulled within 31-25 but Aaron Olsen made it 33-25 at half.
Carson Wessel scored to start the 2nd half and Brody Schultes hit a three and Audubon led 38-27. Jorgen Nowatzke kept the lead at 11 with another three and Oliver Deist gave the Wheelers their largest lead, 41-28. Jorgen Nowatzke scored late in the 3rd and Audubon led 43-32 heading to the 4th quarter. Underwood hit five-threes in the game with three of them early in the 4th quarter. Three straight threes from the Eagles gave them a 45-43 lead late but Oliver Deist tied the game at 45 and Carson Wessel tied the game at 47. Wessel scored again giving the Wheelers a 49-47 lead but Underwood hit a three and led 50-49. Audubon called a timeout and ran their inbound play perfectly with Carson Wessel catching it inside the left block and scoring at the rim with around 0:15 left, giving the Wheelers a 51-50 lead. Underwood called a timeout with 0:07 left and missed their first shot after the timeout but got the rebound and Landon Wigington was fouled. He hit a pair of free throws with 0:02 left, forcing Audubon to need a bucket to win.
Carson Wessel and Brody Shultes both scored 10 points for the Wheelers with Aaron Olsen adding 9 points and Oliver Deist scoring 8 points. Austin Christensen led the Wheelers with 8 rebounds with Colton Hansen pulldown down 6 rebounds.
The loss drops Audubon to 4-6 overall and 2-5 in the WIC. They head to Treynor on Friday.

Huge win for IKM-Manning on Tuesday, holding off Tri Center in the 4th quarter. The loss, the second of the season for the Trojans was the second straight win for the Wolves, improving them to 5-5 overall and 3-3 in the Western Iowa Conference. The Wolves hung close early, trailing by two at the end of the 1st quarter and by one at half. They grabbed their lead in the 3rd quarter, clamping down on the Trojans, holding them to 10 points, taking a 50-44 lead into the final stanza. Similar to the first meeting between these teams the Trojans made a run in the 4th quarter but this time the Wolves held on for the win.
Ben Ramsey had a team high 29 points to go with 4 assists. Isaac Blankman and Wyatt Danner both had 9 points with Blankman adding a pair of steals and Danner pulling down 4 rebounds. Brock Kusel had 8 rebounds with 6 assists and 6 points and Ben Langel added 6 rebounds.
The Wolves head to Riverside on Friday.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders pick up a big win at home over Ar-We-Va as they keep pace with Woodbine at the top of the Rolling Valley Conference. The Crusaders would lead the whole game, but Ar-We-Va was able to cut it down to a single possession a couple of times during the game. The first quarter was back and forth as CRB would hold a slight lead at 15-13. Ar-We-Va struggled to put the basketball in the basket in the second quarter as CRB was able to grow their lead. The Crusaders would lead 30-23 at the half.
The Rockets cut into the deficit in the third quarter, trimming the CRB lead down to 31-29. Coming out of a timeout, the Crusaders went on a run, leading 41-33 going into the fourth quarter. After the quarter change, CRB knocked down two straight threes, continuing to grow their lead. The Crusaders went on to win 62-45 over Ar-We-Va.
For Coon Rapids-Bayard, they were led by Caden Oswald, who chipped in 21 points. Ty Heydon had a great game on the glass, recording 16 rebounds. Heydon also recorded 11 points. As a team, CRB recorded 36 rebounds. Cal Heydon recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Ar-We-Va was led in scoring by Wyatt Ragaller, who recorded 14 points. Wade Ragaller chipped in 11 points in the loss. Tyson VonGlan had a team-high six rebounds for Ar-We-Va.
With the win, the Crusaders moved to 9-1 and 7-1 in the Rolling Valley. Ar-We-Va falls to 8-3 with the loss and 5-3 in conference play. CRB will be back in action against CAM on Friday. The Rockets return to the court on Thursday against Exira-EHK.

A slow start offensively for the Wildcats turned into a flurry of baskets near the basket to end the quarter as Glidden Ralston went on an 18-0 run to close the quarter up 18-3. The Wildcats pressure, which created turnovers and transition opportunities in the 1st quarter forced more turnovers, leading to more transition baskets as the Wildcats blew the game open, up 39-12 at half. The 2nd half was similar to the 1st quarter as Glidden Ralston struggled early, trading buckets with the Hawkeyes until the last couple minutes, helping them build a 60-23 lead, heading into the final stanza.
Jonathan Bergmeier paced the offensive attack with 26 points with 3 assists with Alex Daniel adding 16 points and 4 steals. Carson Peters scored 9 points, Waylon Hein had 7 points and 7 rebounds and Colby Wallace added 5 rebounds.
The Wildcats even their overall record at 6-6 and improved to 5-4 in the Rolling Valley. They host West Central Valley on Thursday.

Both offenses had success in the 4th quarter but the Titans weren’t able to close the gap, getting outscored 78-67. Cole Higgins led the Titans with 25 points with Andrew Anderson scoring 16 points and Charlie Nattress adding 13 points, Garrett Krause just missed being in double digits, scoring 8 points.
The Titans fell to 6-6 overall and will head to Alta-Aurelia on Friday.

Paton Churdan was down 24-19 at half and 38-33 entering the final stanza. They kept battling but Boyer Valley stretched the lead, going on to win 53-45.
