The Kuemper Knights pick up back-to-back conference wins as they knock off Atlantic at home on Friday. Kuemper played great defense in the ball game, holding Atlantic to under 30 points. The Knights jumped out to a 26-1 lead going to the second quarter. Kuemper would add 23 more points in the second quarter as they would grow their lead. Going into the half, Kuemper would lead Atlantic 49-10. The Knights would continue to grow their lead in the second half as they would outscore the Trojans in the third and fourth quarters. Kuemper would go on to win 81-29.
The Knights had four players score in double figures. They were led by Brock Badding, who scored 15 points. Jack Badding chipped in 14 points and knocked down a team-high four threes. The Knights, as a team, pulled down 32 rebounds. Griffin Glynn recorded 12 points off the bench in the win. The last player in double figures was Ryan Clair, who scored 10 points. With the win, Kuemper moves to 9-1. The Knights are back in action on Saturday against East Sac County.

The Carroll Tigers dropped their second straight game as they fell at home to North Polk. The Tigers gave up 69 points as they struggled on the defense end of the court. The first half was close as Carroll would trailed 12-9 going to the second quarter. Carroll picked up the pace in the second quarter as they knocked down more shots. The Tigers would trail 30-23 at the half. The third quarter was the difference in the ball game. North Polk would outscore Carroll 21-14 in the quarter to grow their lead to double digits. The fourth quarter was the only quarter Carroll outscored North Polk. The Tigers would go on to lose 69-58. Carroll had three players in double figures. Trey Tassell recorded a team-high 12 points in the loss. Mac Collison chipped in 11 for the Tigers. Jared Mohr was the last Carroll player in double figures with 10 points. The loss drops Carroll to 2-7. The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday against Gilbert.

Coon Rapids-Bayard was down by double digits in the first half as they came back to beat Glidden-Ralston on the road Friday. Glidden-Ralston started the game hot from the outside as they knocked down four threes in the first quarter. The Wildcats would take an 18-8 lead going to the second quarter. Coon Rapids-Bayard was able to knock down some more shots in the second quarter as they would cut into the Glidden-Ralston lead. CRB would trail 30-28 at the half. Coming out of the locker room, CRB would take the lead back as they opened the third quarter on an 8-3 run. The Crusaders would take the lead into the fourth quarter at 42-39. In the fourth quarter, Glidden-Ralston struggled on the offensive end. Coon Rapids-Bayard would go on to win 59-46.
The Crusaders had three players in double figures, led by Cal Heydon, who finished with 23 points. Caden Oswald chipped in 15 points in the win. Cal Heydon also pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds. As a team, CRB recorded 35 rebounds. Glidden-Ralston was led by Jonathan Bergmeier, who scored 28 points. Colby Wallace and Alex Daniel each chipped in six points for the Wildcats. With the win, CRB moves to 8-1. The loss drops Glidden-Ralston to 5-6. The Crusaders are back in action on Tuesday against Ar-We-Va. The Wildcats return to the hardwood on Tuesday against West Harrison.

Ar-We-Va had another great defensive night, taking control of the game on the road in the 2nd quarter as they earned a rare road win at CAM. After falling behind 12-8 at the end of the 1st quarter the Rockets locked in on the defensive end, holding the Cougars to 10 points combined in the 2nd and 4th quarters. That allowed the offense to get going, finishing with a pair of players in double figures. Ar-We-Va jumped ahead 27-16 at half, maintaining a 10 point lead into the 4th quarter.
Wyatt Ragaller was terrific again, leading the Rockets with 18 points to go with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Blayne Smith continues to control the boards and get the Rockets into their offensive sets, finishing with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Wade Ragaller added 7 points and 3 blocks with Tyson Von Glan pulling down 10 rebounds and blocking a pair of shots. Grant Wilken added 6 rebounds and Derek Thomsen finished with 6 points.
Ar-We-Va improves to 7-2 overall and 5-2 in the Rolling Valley. They head to Woodbury Central on Saturday.

After dropping a game in the final seconds on Tuesday the final quarter wasn’t kind to Audubon on Friday. The Wheelers trailed AHSTW at home 42-34 entering the final stanza but went cold, scoring 6 points as the Vikings heated up with their best quarter. The loss, the second in a row for the Wheelers, dropped them to 4-5 overall and 2-4 in the Western Iowa Conference. Carson Wessel paced the offensive attack, scoring 16 points. Aaron Olsen added 7 points and Austin Christensen, Brody Weber and Oliver Deist all finished with 4 points. The Wheelers trailed 16-13 early but were down 31-20 at half before rallying in the 3rd.
The Wheelers will host Underwood on Tuesday.

South Central Calhoun was able to play a lot of players on Friday as they earned a big win over Storm Lake St Mary’s. The Titans executed well on both sides of the ball, jumping out 53-6 at half, pushing the game into continuous clock to start the 2nd half. Twelve players scored for South Central Calhoun with Andrew Anderson leading the way with 15 points, Cole Higgins added 13 points and Charlie Nattress finished with 12 points. The Titans had four more players between 4 and 7 points. The defense never allowed more than 4 points in a quarter.
South Central Calhoun improved to 6-5 overall and will host Humboldt on Tuesday.

Paton Churdan had their four game winning streak snapped, falling to 5th ranked Woodbine at home. The Tigers have a lot of length and athleticism and showed it on both ends of the floor, jumping out to a 27-10 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and were up 55-13 at half. Paton Churdan struggled to get stops as Woodbine shot the ball well. The Tigers defensive pressure caused the Rockets to get out of sorts on offense.
Cayden Stream led the Rockets with 13 points with Trevon Keely adding 8 points. Bryce Stephenson had a nice night on the boards with 7 rebounds.
The loss drops the Rockets to 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the Rolling Valley. They head to Boyer Valley on Tuesday.

The defenses both played well in the 1st half as the game went back and forth. Carson Schmitt had 8 points in the 1st half for the Raiders as they tied the score at 22 at half. Landon Sporrer hit a couple big shots late in the half to spark the Raiders. The offense moved the ball well in the 2nd half but the Raiders weren’t able to make open shots and Emmetsburg began to use their size inside. The E-Hawks edged in front by 5 heading into the 4th quarter. Emmetsburg defense continued to make it tough for East Sac to get in rhythm on offense and they kept pounding it inside on offense, stretching their lead into double digits.
Landon Sporrer had a strong game at point guard, getting the Raiders into their offensive sets and leading them with 13 points. Carson Schmitt had a good night shooting, finishing with 8 points and Kade Snyder had a strong defensive game, leading the Raiders with 8 rebounds. Asher Lawler added 6 rebounds.
The loss drops East Sac to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the Twin Lakes Conference. The Raiders head to Kuemper on KIKD 106.7 on Saturday.
