The Kuemper Knights even up their record as they pick up their fifth win of the season on the road at Nodaway Valley. The Knights shot the basketball great in the win as they knocked down 12 threes. In the first quarter, Kuemper started hot and never looked back. The Knights would take a 27-10 lead to the second quarter. The Knigth’s offense would slow down a little bit in the second quarter, as they only managed seven points. Going into the half, Kuemper would lead Nodaway Valley 34-27. Both teams had a great third quarter, as it was a fast-paced quarter. The Knights would outscore Nodaway Valley 29-24. Going to the fourth quarter Kuemper would lead 63-51. Kuemper would go on to win 72-53.
The Knights shot over 40 percent from the field and from behind the arc. Kuemper had three players score in double figures. They were led by Karsyn Overmohle, who had a team-high 29 points. Overmohle also knocked down seven threes in the win. Elsa Tiefenthaler and Kaylie Simons each recorded 11 points. Overmohle also dished out a team-high six assists. With the win, Kuemper moves to 5-5. The Knights are back in action on Thursday against Red Oak.

The Crusaders picked up their fifth straight win as they knocked off West Central Valley at home on Monday. CRB held a big lead early but saw it almost slip away in the second half. CRB played great defense the whole game as they would jump out to an early lead at 12-4. The offense pace would pick up in the second quarter as the lead would grow from Coon Rapids-Bayard. The Crusaders would lead 24-14 at the half, holding a double-digit lead. CRB only managed nine points in the second half as they struggled on offense. West Central Valley would outscore the Crusaders 7-2 in the third quarter as their lead would be trimmed to 26-21. West Central Valley outscored CRB in the fourth quarter 11-7. The Crusaders would hit some important shots down the stretch as they went on to win 33-32.
Malia Clayburg led the Crusaders in points, finishing with 15. Anna Hart chipped in eight points in the win. CRB recorded 19 steals as a team against West Central Valley. Ella Heithoff pulled down a team-high five rebounds for the Crusaders. With the win, CRB moves to 5-1. The Crusaders are back in action on Tuesday against Boyer Valley.

East Sac took control in the 1st quarter with a strong defensive effort, great ball movement and controlling the backboards. They hit 44.3% from the field and were 8-23 from three. The full court pressure pushed the Jaguars to play faster than they wanted, leading East Sac to finish with 16 steals. The Raiders pulled down 15 offensive rebounds and didn’t allow SE Valley many second chance opportunities. The Raiders led 19-6 at the end of the 1st quarter and were up 40-14 at half. The game went into continuous clock in the 3rd quarter.
Addisen Ehler and Makenna Steiger scored to open the game as the Raiders led 4-0. After a Jaguar bucket, East Sac went on a 11-0 run with baskets from Sarah Bontrager (the first of her four-3’s), back-to-back baskets from Addisen Ehler, Kendall Quirk and another bucket from Ehler. Jordin Carroll made it 19-6 to end the 1st quarter. Sarah Bontrager got on a roll in the 2nd quarter, hitting two early 3’s with her final three late in the half. She pushed the lead to 25-6 and Makenna Steiger extended it to 31-8 with her first-three. SE Valley cut the deficit to 31-13 but East Sac closed the half on a 9-1 run with baskets from Kendall Quirk, Sarah Bontrager, Addisen Ehler and Makenna Steiger.
Addisen Ehler, Kendall Quirk and Makenna Steiger scored the first-six points of the 2nd half and the Raiders were off and running. A Chloe Bieret three pushed the lead to 53-16 in the 3rd quarter, starting the continuous clock. East Sac led 55-18 entering the 4th quarter. The Raiders rolled to a 65-26 win.
Addisen Ehler finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds, Makenna Steiger added 16 points and 4 steals with Sarah Bontrager finishing with 15 points and 3 steals. Kendall Quirk nearly had a double-double with 8 points and 10 rebounds and Chloe Bieret had 6 points.
East Sac snapped a three game losing streak, improving to 4-4 on the season and 2-2 in the Twin Lakes Conference. They host Emmetsburg on Friday.
