The Carroll Tigers continue their excellent start to the season, knocking off a ranked Storm Lake team on Saturday. The Tigers led the whole game, leading by as much as 15 points in the first half. Carroll got off to a quick start as they jumped out to a 9-2 lead. They would lead 18-6 at the end of the first quarter. Storm Lake came into the game ranked #15 in Class 4A. The Tigers were great on the defensive end in the first half, mixing up different types of defensive looks. Carroll would lead 27-12 at the half.
Storm Lake would come out of the second half and change up their defensive pressure, giving Carroll some issues. Carroll struggled with turnovers in the third quarter. Storm Lake would outscore the Tigers 15-9 in the quarter. Carroll would still hold on to their lead at 36-27 going to the fourth quarter. Storm Lake would cut into the Carroll lead late in the fourth quarter at 45-41. Carroll would hit some big free throws down the stretch, and they would go on to win 46-42.
Carroll had two players in double figures. Katelyn Aden led the team in scoring with 14 points. Aden also chipped in six steals on the defensive end. Ali Kock shot the ball well and hit some big threes for Carroll, finishing with 12 points in the win. As a team, the Tigers pulled down 26 rebounds. Olivia Rowedder led the lead in rebounds with seven. With the win, Carroll moves to 6-2. The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday against Ballard.

The Spartans defensive pressure early, led to easy baskets as Exira-EHK built a commanding lead to open the game. They were up 21-2 at the end of the 1st quarter and led 37-19 at half. Earlham played better in the middle portion of the game, able to trim into the Spartans lead but weren’t able to fully close the gap as Exira-EHK earned their second straight win. Taryn Petersen paced the Spartans with 29 points with Alissa Testroet adding 7 points and Riley Miller and Kadence Sporrer both having 5 points.
The win moves the Spartans to 4-2 overall as they prepare to host CAM on Tuesday.

South Central Calhoun battled the 7th ranked Rams in the 1st quarter, down 19-13 but MVAOCOU was able to take control of the game in the 2nd quarter. Their defensive pressure led to 33 Titans turnovers, helping MVAOCOU build a 38-20 lead at half. South Central Calhoun struggled from the field on Saturday, shooting 22.2% from the field and 21.4% from beyond the arc. Macie Dorman led the Titans attack with 13 points to go with 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Bre Patterson added 8 points with Adlen Wheelock pulling down 6 rebounds and Blair Schleisman adding 5 rebounds. Sadie Wheelock finished with 3 steals.
The loss drops the Titans to 4-6 overall as they head to OABCIG on Tuesday.
