Carroll struggled offensively in the 1st half but battled back to tie the game in the 3rd quarter and had a chance to earn a big road win before the holiday break. The Tigers trailed 19-10 at the end of the 1st quarter but rebounded with a strong defensive 2nd quarter to keep them within striking distance. Neither team had much luck in the 2nd quarter and Carroll found themselves down 9 at half. The offense sparked in the 3rd with Carroll taking the extra pass to find an open shooter. They tied the game at 30 going into the 4th quarter, holding Winterset to 4 points in the 3rd. The game was tight until the final few minutes when Winterset was able to take advantage of a few Tiger turnovers to extend the lead.
Mac Collison and Jared Mohr paced the Tigers with 11 points with Collison adding 3 steals and Mohr 2 blocks. Noah Hinners had 9 points and 4 rebounds and Miles Nuzback finished with 6 points and 4 rebounds.
The Tigers sit 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the Raccoon River Conference. They host Bondurant Farrar on January 3rd.

Paton Churdan battled through early foul trouble to earn a tight win heading into the holiday break. The Rockets had two key contributors on the bench most of the 1st half with three fouls each but battled hard, leading 17-16 at the end of the 1st half and trailing only 30-27 at half. That hard work paid off in the 3rd quarter when Tevon Keely and Bryce Stephenson were able to see the floor longer. They edged in front entering the 4th quarter, up 47-45. The Rockets led 61-59 with 11.8 seconds remaining. They missed a pair of free throws but CAM missed a three and the put back on the other end and the Rockets held on for the 61-59 win. Trevon Keely had scored to put the Rockets up late.
Phoenix Hartman had a huge game, pouring in 23 points, leading three Rockets in double figures. Trevon Keely added 14 points and Cayden Stream had 11 points.
The win improves the Rockets to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They open the 2nd half of the season on January 3rd at home against Exira-EHK.

Ar-We-Va did a nice jog executing the offense early, getting several good looks but the shots didn’t fall and Woodbine took advantage. The Tigers rolled out to an early lead, going up 25-4 at the end of the 1st quarter. Woodbine never let up, building a 46-17 lead at half and rolling to the win. Ar-We-Va shot the ball better over the final three quarters but weren’t able to recover from the slow start.
Blayne Smith paced the offense with 13 points with Wade Ragaller adding 10 points and Wyatt Ragaller finishing with 8 points.
Ar-We-Va falls to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They head to Boyer Valley on January 3rd.

Jonathan Bergmeier and Waylon Hein helped Glidden Ralston get off to a fast start, combining for 17 of the team’s 20 points in the 1st quarter. Hein helped start the Wildcats taking the ball to the basket aggressively. Jonathan Bergmeier added a four-point play, hitting four-threes in the 1st half. The Wildcats led Boyer Valley 20-10 entering the 2nd quarter, stretching the lead to 20 before the Bulldogs rallied to trail 36-27 at half. The Wildcats maintained their lead in the 3rd, then had to hold off another rally in the 4th quarter as Boyer Valley tied the game at 57. The Wildcats called a timeout, setting up a layup for Jonathan Bergmeier. Colby Wallce stole the inbound pass, scoring to put the Wildcats up by 4. Glidden Ralston closed the game on a 13-5 run with Lucas Christian hitting a pair of clutch threes and Colby Wallce hit free throws to ice the 70-62 win.
Jonathan Bergmeier had a team high 27 points and Waylon Hein added 16 points in the win. Lucas Christian with 9 points and Alex Daniel and Colby Wallce both with 8 points nearly gave the Wildcats five guys in double figures.
Glidden Ralston enters the break 5-2 overall and 4-1 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They head to CAM on January 3rd.

East Sac struggled in the 1st half but roared back in the 3rd quarter with Jack Gullett hitting a three at the buzzer to tie the game at 38. The Raiders kept the momentum going in the 4th quarter. Sam Julin drained a long three with 2:36 left to put them up 52-45. That was his second-three in about 0:20. The Raiders defense clamped down, holding the Titans scoreless the final 3:10 until they hit a three with 0:10 remaining. East Sac salted the game away at the free throw line.
The Raiders used a balanced attack to earn a tough road win with Jack Gullett and Sam Julin both scoring 17 points to lead three guys in double figures. Landon Sporrer added 13 points while dishing out 7 assists and making 5 steals. Jack Gullett added 7 rebounds and Sam Julin had 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Asher Lawler contributed 7 points and 5 rebounds with Kade Snyder pulling down 5 rebounds.
The Raiders are 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the Twin Lakes Conference. They travel to SE Valley on January 6th.
