Kuemper continues to shoot lights out from the field and play extremely well on the defensive end, rolling past Winnebago, Nebraska in a showcase event. The Knights took control early, leading 26-17 at the end of the 1st quarter and as they have done all season, pulling away in the 2nd quarter. Kuemper scored 31 points in the 2nd quarter, thanks in part to shooting 63.3% from the field and 68.2% from 2 point range. The Knights had one of their best games shooting threes, hitting 8-16 with six players making at least one. Kuemper dished out 27 assists on 38 made baskets. The defense was every bit as good, coming up with 19 steals and blocking 3 shots. They held Winnebago to 10 points in both the 2nd and 4th quarters, helping them build a 57-27 lead by half and cruise to a 97-51 win.
The Knights had five guys score in double figures, led by Dylan Schon with 15 points, Tregan Beiter and Ryan Clair both finished with 14 points while Griffin Glynn and Jack Badding both added 13 points. Carson Kanne had a team high 10 assists while Ryan Clair led the defensive effort with 6 steals with Tregan Beiter adding 4 steals. Carson Kanne led the team with 5 rebounds.
The Knights head into the break 6-0.

Ar-We-Va didn’t shoot the ball particularly well and struggled from the free throw line, going 12-22 but they made enough plays in the 4th quarter, hit a few free throws and played a strong defensive game, helping them earn their fourth win in a row. The game had nine lead changes and was tied four times before the Rockets took control in the 4th quarter. Wade Ragaller drained a three, his only points in the game, extending their lead to 36-26 early in the 4th quarter. The Rockets used a 7-0 run to start the 4th quarter to push a 4 point lead to 11. It grew to 12 on a Grant Wilken jumper just inside the free throw line. Wyatt Ragaller hit three free throws down the stretch and Ar-We-Va moved to 4-1 with a 44-31 win.
It took a couple minutes for either team to score as both defenses were aggressive and the game was physical from the opening tip. The Warriors grabbed the early lead at 2-0 but Ar-We-Va responded with a bucket from Devon Ehlers and a free throw from Wyatt Ragaller putting them up 3-2. Alta-Aurelia scored to take the back, then pushed it to 6-3. Blayne Smith hit a free throw and Wyatt Ragaller scored at the 1st quarter buzzer and Ar-We-Va tied the game at 6. Wyatt Ragaller scored to start the 2nd quarter and Blayne Smith pushed the lead to 10-6. Both teams wanted to get the ball inside and both defenses were collapsing in the lane. Alta-Aurelia went on a 6-0 run to lead 12-10 but Ar-We-Va answered. Wyatt Ragaller tied the game at 12 and put the Rockets up 13-12 with a free throw. The game went back and forth until Wyatt Ragaller pushed Ar-We-Va in front 17-14. The Warriors answered with three in a row but Blayne Smith edged Ar-We-Va in front 19-17 at half.
Alta-Aurelia went on a 5-0 run to start the 2nd half, leading 22-19. Blayne Smith took over for the Rockets. Devon Ehlers put Ar-We-Va up 25-24 after four straight from Smith. Wyatt Ragaller made it 27-24 and Blayne Smith scored six in a row to push the lead to 33-26 early in the 4th quarter. Wade Ragaller extended it to 36-26 with a three and Ar-We-Va was off and running. Alta-Aurelia never got back within less than eight the rest of the way with Wyatt Ragaller hitting several free throws down the stretch.
Wyatt Ragaller led the Rockets with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Blayne Smith added 15 points and 9 rebounds. Tyson VonGlan added 6 rebounds.
The win improves Ar-We-Va to 4-1 heading into a home game with Woodbine on Friday.

Audubon played their best game of the season on Thursday, leading most of the game, then rallying to send the game into overtime. Tri Center took an early two possession lead in overtime and was able to make a couple stops, forcing Audubon to foul. The Trojans hit free throws down the stretch of the overtime, holding off the Wheelers 81-77. Audubon was up 18-15 at the end of the 1st quarter and extended the lead to 32-25 at half. Both offenses played well early but exploded in the 3rd. The Wheelers scored 27 points but Tri Center kept pace with 26 points staying within 7 points entering the 4th quarter. Tri Center rallied in the 4th, taking a late lead. Audubon called a timeout with under 0:05 remaining and set up a play. It worked perfectly and Carson Wessel came off a back screen, getting a wide open layup and tied the game at 74, sending it to overtime. Tri Center edged out in the overtime as Audubon went scoreless on a couple possessions. The Trojans salted the game away at the free throw line. Audubon had chances, going 9-21 from the free throw line.
Brody Schultes paced the Wheelers with 17 points, Carson Wessel and Oliver Deist both had 14 points. Aaron Olsen added 13 points and Sullivan McClain and Mason Stecker both nearly were in double figures with 9 points each.
The loss drops Audubon to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the Western Iowa Conference entering the holiday break.

Paton Churdan wasn’t able to recover from a slow start and a cold night shooting as they fell at home to Colo-Nesco. The Royals used a pair of strong guards to build a 20-11 lead after the 1st quarter. They scored 20 or more points in three quarters, taking a 61-44 lead into the 4th quarter. After a slow start on offense Paton Churdan got it going in the 3rd quarter, scoring 20 points but the Royals answered with 21 points to extend their lead.
Trevon Keely led the Rockets with 27 points and Phoenix Hartman added 11 points.
The loss drops Paton Churdan to 1-4 overall heading into Friday’s home game against CAM.
