Kuemper’s offense was clicking early on the road against Harlan, scoring 28 points in the 1st quarter. Harlan kept pace during the 1st quarter but the Knights speed and athleticism took control midway through the 2nd  quarter, building a 49-32 at half. Kuemper blew the game open in the 3rd, outscoring the Cyclones 27-14. The Knights were able to attack the Harlan defense, getting shots in the lane and around the basket. They shot the ball well from inside the arc, hitting 29-39 shots, helping them shoot 60% from the floor overall. Kuemper hit seven threes but struggled from the free throw line, going 11-19. The Kuemper defense finished with 21 steals while the offense only turned it over 7 times. 

Dylan Schon led five guys in double figures with 19 points. Jack Badding added 18 points, Tregan Beiter finished with 13 points and Brock Badding and Ryan Clair both had 11 points. Clair led them in rebounds with 8 with Carson Kanne pulling down 6 and Dylan Shon adding 5. Jack Badding and Tregan Beiter both had a team high 5 assists with Carson Kanne adding 4. Dylan Schon paced the defensive effort with 6 steals. 

Kuemper improves to 3-0 overall and will host Red Oak on KIKD on Friday.

Carroll was able to get into the lane in the 1st quarter, helping them battle back from down 4-0 to lead 15-14. Mac Collison put Carroll up late in the 2nd quarter but ADM closed the half on a 14-2 and never trailed again. Carroll struggled from the floor in the 2nd  half, falling behind by as many as 22 in the 3rd. They had pulled within 12 on three free throws from Trey Tassell but ADM responded with a 10-0 run to put the game away. 

ADM jumped out 4-0 early as the 3rd ranked Tigers were able to get inside against Carroll. Stone Sibenaller put Carroll on the board with a three, adding a bucket moments later and Carroll led 5-4. Jared Mohr pushed it to 7-4 but ADM ran off four straight, taking an 8-7 lead. Trey Tassell hit a three, tying the game at 10 and Jared Mohr gave Carroll the lead back, up 13-12. A pair of free throws from Mac Collison helped the Tigers lead 15-14 at the end of the 1st quarter. ADM went back up 16-15 early in the 2nd quarter, building a 20-15 lead. Carroll fought back with Jared Mohr making it 20-17 and Trey Tassell pulled Carroll within 22-21. Moments later Mac Collison gave Carroll a 23-22 lead. ADM tied the game at 23 and closed the half on a 14-2 run to lead 36-25 at half. 

Two quick threes from ADM to start the 2nd half extended their lead to 42-25. Stone Sibenaller added a three and Carter Essick pulled Carroll within 44-30. Essick scored again moments later and Trey Tassell hit three free throws and Carroll was down 47-35. A 10-0 run by ADM to end the 3rd pushed the game out of reach. Carter Essick had a strong 4th quarter for Carroll but ADM was able to stretch the lead, hitting ten-threes in the 2nd half. 

Trey Tassell led Carroll with 13 points with Stone Sibenaller and Jared Mohr both scoring 10 points. Mohr added 7 rebounds. Carter Essick scored all 12 of his points in the 2nd half. 

The loss drops Carroll to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the Raccoon River Conference heading into a road game Saturday at Storm Lake on KIKD 106.7.

Coon Rapids Bayard played well in the 1st half, building a 34-9 lead at half. The offense moved the ball well and the Crusaders were able to get out in transition in the 1st half. They shot the ball well inside the arc, hitting 22 of 34 shots. The Coon Rapids Bayard defense was strong, holding the Hawkeyes to single digits all four quarters. West Harrison did win the rebounding battle 34-25. 

Ty Heydon had a strong night, leading the Crusaders in points and rebounds with 18 points and 8 rebounds. He added 4 steals. Bryce Lewis was 3 of 9 from three, finishing with 11 points. Cal Heydon had 10 points with Landon Cook scoring 8 points and Caden Oswald had 6 rebounds. 

The Crusaders improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Rolling Valley. They head to Paton Churdan on Friday.

Exira-EHK took an early lead, going up 8-3 having shot the ball well. Jonathan Bergmeier caught fire for the Wildcats, finishing with 33 points after hitting four-threes in the 1st quarter, helping Glidden Ralston go on a 13-0 run. Glidden Ralston built a 16-8 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Bergmeier stayed hot early in the 2nd quarter, hitting two more threes. The Spartans closed the half on a run, pulling within 32-28 at half. 

Both teams came out sharp in the 3rd quarter with the game going back and forth until Colby Wallace hit a big three and Wayon Hein added a few offensive rebounds and putbacks. The Wildcats stretched the lead to double digits in the 3rd, holding a 48-39 lead going to the 4th quarter. The Spartans made several runs in the 4th, pulling within three points several times but the Wildcats were able to  hit shots down the stretch. Wayon Hein had 13 points and 8 rebounds with a couple offensive rebounds and buckets down the stretch. Glidden Ralston salted the game away down the stretch from the free throw line. 

Jonathan Bergmeier had 33 points with Waylon Hein adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Colby Wallace added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. 

The Wildcats are 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Rolling Valley. They host Greene County on Thursday.

IKM-Manning pulled out a huge win at home, holding on down the stretch after the game was tied at 46 and 49. The Wolves closed out the 1st quarter with a 6-0 run to take a 13-7 lead after the game was tied at 7. LoMa responded in the 2nd quarter tying the game at 16 but IKM-Mannig led 22-19 at half. The Panthers grabbed the lead in the 3rd, going up 28-26. The Wolves closed the quarter strong, taking a 46-38 into the final stanza. 

IKM-Manning earned the win with four players in double figures led by Wyatt Danner with 15 points and Isaac Blankman and Ben Ramsey both with 14 points. Brock Kusel scored 11 points. Ashton Ahreholtz paced the boards with 7 with Brock Kusel adding 6 rebounds and Wyatt Danner with 4 rebounds. Ahrenholtz led the Wolves with 5 assists with Brock Kusel having 4 assists. The Wolves had 5 block shots, led by Ahrenholtz with 2. 

The Wolves improved to 3-1 overall. They head to Audubon on 93.7 KKRL on Friday.

Audubon took control in the 4th quarter earning a tough win on the road on Tuesday. Brody Weber scored 8 of his 12 points in the 2nd half and Mason Steckler drained three-threes, helping the Wheelers, two in the 2nd  half. Audubon built a 16-11 lead at the end of the 1st quarter but the game was tied at 26 at half. They edged ahead by two heading into the final stanza. Audubon outscored the Big Red 20-13 down the stretch. 

Mason Steckler led the Wheelers with 13 points with Brody Weber adding 12 points. Aaron Olsen scored 9 points and Carson Wessel added 8 points. 

The Wheelers improved to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the Western Iowa Conference. They host IKM-Manning on Friday on 93.7 KKRL.

South Central Calhoun went the length of the floor in 0:03 and nearly sent the game to overtime but didn’t get the shot to fall, coming up just short on the road. The Titans turned the Lynx over 25 times but were hurt on the boards, getting outrebounded 35-16. They allowed Webster City to grab 13 rebounds which off-set a cold shooting night. The Titans defense held the Lynx to 21-44 from the field and 4 of 19 from three point range. Webster City hit just 3 of 11 free throws. Andrew Anderson hit 3 of 5 from three to help keep the Titans in the game. They finished shooting 36.5% from the field, going 7-21 from deep. The Titans trailed after each quarter, getting down 28-22 at half. They battled back in the 4th quarter, outsourcing the Lynx 13-9 to give themselves a chance in the closing seconds. 

Andrew Anderson had a team high 13 points with 6 steals and 3 assists. Garrett Krause had 9 points and 3 steals. Evan Myers added 6 points and 6 rebounds and Charlie Nattress scored 6 points. 

The loss drops the Titans to 2-2 overall. They host GTRA on Friday.

The Ar-We-Va Rockets and Paton Churdan Rockets meet on Tuesday night and clash for two area teams. The game started back and forth, with both teams trading the lead early in the match-up. Both teams struggled to shoot the ball from behind the arc. Ar-We-Va and Paton Churdan would be tied 11-11 going to the second quarter. Ar-We-Va was able to take control of the game in the second quarter and never looked back. With good defense, Ar-We-Va was able to build a 29-18 lead in the half. 

Ar-We-Va kept the same defensive intensity coming out of the locker room. Paton Churdan was held scoreless for the first four minutes of the third quarter, as Ar-We-Va was able to grow its lead. Going into the fourth quarter, Ar-We-Va was able to grow its lead to 47-26. Ar-We-Va would go on to beat Paton Churdan 71-39.

Blayne Smith finished with a team-high 16 points for the Ar-We-Va Rockets. Hayden Studer added 12 points in the win. Tyson VonGlan was the last Ar-We-Va player in double figures, finishing with ten points. Smith also recorded a team-high 15 rebounds for Ar-We-Va. Paton Churdan was led in scoring by Trevon Keely, who finished with 15 points. Phoenix Hartman added eight points in the loss.

With the win, Ar-We-Va improves to 2-1. The Rockets are back in action on Friday against Exira-EHK. The loss drops Paton Churdan to 0-3. They are back on the court on Friday against Coon Rapids-Bayard.
