South Central Calhoun dropped their second straight close game, going scoreless for nearly 6:00 in the 3rd quarter but rallying twice in the 2nd half from down 9 and 10-points to have a chance to win late. The Titans had two girls foul out and played the final :06.8 with four players and nearly hit the game tying shot. 

The Titans jumped out quick with Bre Patterson scoring the first-five points in the game. After a Cougar bucket, Patterson hit another three to push the Titans lead to 8-2. Manson NW Webster pulled within 8-5 but Patterson scored her tenth straight point for the Titans to push the lead to 10-5. Blair Schleisman got on the board later in the 1st quarter, hitting a three to extend their lead to 13-9. Macie Dorman scored late and the Titans nearly led 15-12 to end the 1st quarter but Sophia McCullough was fouled at the horn and made three free throws to tie the game heading to the 2nd quarter. The Cougars grabbed their first lead at 18-15 but Sadie Wheelock pulled the Titans within 18-17 and Bre Patterson gave them the lead back at 19-18. Manson NW Webster tied the game at 21 and went ahead for good at 24-21. Sadie Wheelock pulled the Titans within 24-23 but the Cougars scored five in a row, building their largest lead at 29-23. Bre Patterson and Sadie Wheelock combined on a 5-0 run to close the half and the Titans trailed 29-28 at half. 

The Titans went cold in the 3rd quarter, missing layups and open threes while Manson NW Webster extended the lead to 38-28. Sadie Wheelock hit a three and the Titans chipped away with Blair Schleisman draining a three and Macie Dorman hit another three and the Titans were within 40-38 going to the 4th quarter. The Cougars used a 7-0 run to start the 4th to push their lead to 47-38 but the Titans fought back. Blair Schleisman scored four points and Bre Patterson added a pair of free throws and the Titans were down 47-44. A Schleisman free throw made it a two point game. Bre Patterson made a steal and fed the ball to Macie Dorman who found Blair Schleisman for a bucket and the game was tied at 47. The Cougars took the lead with a bucket with 0:40 left and led 49-47. They added a free throw but missed the second free throw and the Titans got a look to tie the game but missed and fell to 1-3 with a 50-47 loss. 

Bre Patterson had 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Blair Schleisman added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Sadie Wheelock had 9 points and 5 rebounds. 

The Titans head to Webster City on Tuesday.

Kassidy Wenck scored 26 points for the Wildcats on the road but they fell to Woodward Granger 75-47, suffering their first loss of the season. The Hawks were able to hold the rest of the Wildcats in-check with Olivia Squibb scoring 10 points and everyone else scoring 2 points. 

The loss drops the Wildcats to 1-1 heading into their game at Exira-EHK on Tuesday.
