State Girls Cross Country Results Saturday, November 2nd
Iris Melody of South Central Calhoun tied her personal best with a strong run at the State Meet on Saturday in Fort Dodge. She did a nice job making up ground after getting trapped at the beginning of the race. She started in box 22. She had a good first mile but ran her best during the second mile, making up ground as she worked her way up the pack. Melody wanted to beat her time and place from her freshman season. She placed 29th, running a 20:09.1, tying her personal best and placing twenty spots better than she did her freshman season. Melody was pleased with her performance, having battled injuries this season that didn ‘t allow her to train much over the past week. She is excited about next season.
