Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Wolves Fall to LoMa in Season Finale

IKM-Manning scored in three quarters, racking up 435-yards of total offense, but gave up 458-yards of offense to LoMa, as the Panthers scored in every quarter, winning a high scoring game. The Wolves struck first but never led again after LoMa took the lead early in the 2nd quarter. They tried to rally late, scoring a pair of touchdowns in the final 4:30 but fell short with LoMa scoring with 3:38 remaining. The Wolves had 199-yards rushing and threw for 238-yards while LoMa ran for 291-yards and passed for 167-yards. 

Ben Langel capped a 10-play drive that went 83-yards with a 5-yard run, putting the Wolves up 7-0 with 7:24 left in the 1st quarter. LoMa responded with a 9-yard run by Wes Vana, tying the game with 5:27 left in the 1st quarter. Both defenses made stops until the Panthers broke off a 91-yard run by Wes Vana with 4:03 left in the half. The touchdown and extra-point put LoMa up 14-7. IKM-Manning marched down the field, tying the game at 14 with a 6-yard run by Davis Rasmussen. His touchdown capped a 9-play 63-yard drive. The game looked like it may go to half tied but LoMa scored with 0:01 left in the half when Ashton Pezulik found Carson Edney for a 8-yard touchdown. The Panthers went 70-yards in 6-plays in under 1:30, taking a 21-14 lead into half. 

IKM-Manning didn’t score on their first possession of the 2nd half and LoMa extended the lead to 28-14 with 4:34 left in the 3rd. Wes Vana ran in from 7-yards out, his third touchdown of the game and the Panthers were in control. The Wolves offense was able to move the ball but couldn’t finish the drives as the game went scoreless the rest of the 3rd quarter. LoMa capitalized in the 4th, still up 28-14, they scored on a 15-yard run by Kaleb Kuhl with 6:27 left in the game. Their lead was 35-14 but IKM-Manning wasn’t done yet. The Wolves scored quickly with Ben Ramsey finding Wyatt Danner for a 26-yard touchdown with 4:30 left. The Wolves trailed 35-21 and needed an onside kick. LoMa recovered and used the short field to score on a 50-yard run by Wes Vana on the second play of the possession. The lead was 21 with 3:38 left. IKM-Manning added a 2-yard touchdown run by Ben Ramsey with 2:10 left but the Wolves fell 42-28. 

Ben Ramsey had 236-yards passing with a touchdown to Wyatt Danner, who caught 5 passes for 82-yards. Ben Langel led them with 85-yards on the ground with Davis Rasmussen adding 64-yards on 10 carries. Ashton Ahreholtz made 4 catches for 90-yards, but made his biggest difference on defense, recovering a pair of fumbles. 

The loss ends the season for IKM-Manning at 3-5 overall and 2-4 in the district.
