South Central Calhoun put together a great drive in the final minutes, scoring on a 18-yard pass with no time left on the clock. They trailed by two, having missed a point after earlier in the half but weren’t able to to pick it up, falling on the road 21-19 to finish 4th in the district. The Titans kept clawing back in the game but never led, falling behind 7-0 at half. The Titans offense scored on two long drives in the 2nd half, outscoring the Cardinals 19-14 in the 2nd half. They finished the game with 111-yards on the ground and 205-yards passing while Earlham ran for 154-yards and threw for 124-yards. 

Earlham capitalized on some Titans penalties in the 1st half, halting drives into Cardinal territory. The game was scoreless until under a minute left in the half when Blake Reynolds hit Josh Winey for an 11-yard touchdown. Earlham took a 7-0 lead into half. 

South Central Calhoun responded early in the 2nd half. Cole Higgins punched in a touchdown from a yard out with 6:39 left in the 3rd quarter, tying the game at 7. Earlham responded, getting a 52-yard touchdown run from Caleb Smith, part of his 123-yards rushing, putting the Cardinals up 14-7. South Central Calhoun needed an answer and put together an outstanding drive, marching 85-yards  with Hayden Stickrod scoring on a 1-yard run. The Titans missed the extra-point and trailed 14-13 with 9:17 left in the game. The offenses kept coming in the 2nd half as Earlham scored on a 68-yard pass from Blake Reynolds to Josh Winey with 7:31 left in the game. The extra-point pushed their lead to 21-13. Earlham had a chance to extend the lead but missed a field goal with 2:14 left, setting up the Titans drive. South Central Calhoun drove 90-yards with Andrew Anderson hitting Cole Higgins for an 18-yard touchdown as time expired. The Titans had to go for two to tie the game, but weren’t able to score and fell 21-19. 

Andrew Anderson finished the game with 205-yards passing and a touchdown. Cole Higgins had 3 catches for 28-yards with a touchdown and carried the ball 12 times for a team high 44-yards. Higgins added a team leading 9 tackles. Caleb Juhl had 4 catches for 32-yards with 6 tackles and Hayden Stickrod had a 1-yard touchdown run. 

 The Titans fell to 4-4 overall and 3-3 in the district. They finished 4th and will head to Tri Center on Friday in the opening round of the Class 1A playoffs.
