It took Kuemper a little while to get rolling but they clinched a district title with a convincing win, taking the game over in the 2nd quarter to have continuous clock by halftime. The Knights didn’t score until late in the 1st quarter, then scored 14-points in a 1:14. Brock Badding scored on a 1-yard touchdown with 1:16 left in the 1st quarter. The defense got the ball back for the offense and Badding hit Carson Kanne for a 17-yard touchdown with 0:12 left in the quarter and Kuemper was off and running. The points came quickly in the 2nd quarter with Ryan Lucas scoring on a 3-yard touchdown run with 9:48 left in the half. A 1:15 later, Brayton Alford found the endzone on a 2-yard run and Kuemper was up 28-0 with 8:43 left in the half. Kuemper was able to establish the ground game, chewing up 3-5-yards per carry, moving the chains. Jarin Hoffman found the endzone for the first time in the game, scoring on a 1-yard run with 6:11 left in the half and the Knights led 35-0. They added a Carson Kanne touchdown in the 2nd quarter, pushing the lead to 42-0 at half. The 2nd half went by quickly with continuous clock but Dylan Schon found Theodore Perkins for a 47-yard touchdown with 2:24 left in the 3rd and the Knights earned another district title.
The Knights ran for 178-yards with Jarin Hoffman rushing for 101-yards on 16 carries with a touchdown. Brock Badding was 7 of 9 throwing the ball for 147-yards and a pair of touchdowns with Dylan Schon going 3-4 passing for 79-yards and a score as the Knights passed for 286-yards on 14 attempts. Carson Kanne had 3 catches for 47-yards and a score and made an interception. He rushed for a score as well. Brayton Alford paced the defense with 5.5 tackles.
The Knights improved to 6-1 overall, earning their sixth straight win. They are 4-0 in district play and will head to SE Valley on KIKD 106.7 on Friday.
