The Audubon Wheelers ran the football great on Friday in a win over Collins-Maxwell, which helped them clinch a district title. The first half was close, and neither team was able to separate themselves. Audubon would hold a slight lead going to the second quarter, 8-6, over Collins-Maxwell. Both teams added a touchdown in the second quarter to add to the score. Audubon would hold a 14-12 lead at the half. In the second half, the offenses would start to find their groves. Audubon added a couple of touchdowns as they would hold onto their lead 28-24 going to the fourth quarter. The Wheelers were able to separate themselves in the fourth quarter as they would add a touchdown. The Wheelers would go on to win 36-24.
Audubon ran for over 290 yards in the win. Aaron Olsen was the Wheeler’s leading rusher, with 183 yards on the ground and three touchdowns. Mason Kasperbauer added 111 yards on the ground for Audubon. Brody Weber caught two passes for ten yards and a touchdown. Adam Obrecht was the leading tackler in the win with ten. Obrecht added a pick-six on defense. Ely Jorgensen added 9.5 tackles and 2.5 for loss. With the win, Audubon improved to 7-0. The Wheelers are back in action on Friday against Baxter.
