Girls Cross Country Results Saturday, October 5th
Ar-We-Va, East Sac and South Central Calhoun At Pocahontas Area Invite
Iris Melody had a strong return for South Central Calhoun, taking 6th place (20:14.39) on Saturday. Melody started well and worked her way near the top 5 with a good first-two miles. She battled the last mile of the race in conditions that went from windy to calm and warm. She helped the Titans finish in 3rd place with 122-points. Bre Patterson continued her strong start to October, taking 13th place in 22:07.37. Libbie Veit is the lone runner for East Sac and ran well on Saturday, runner a strong pace the whole race, finishing in 20th place in 22:45.76. Ar-We-Va had one runner on Saturday with Gabrielle Hundling continuing to show growth. She ran one of her best races of the year, finishing in 25th place in 23:06.02. Alyssa Richman of Manson NW Webster continues to dominant the area, Richman and Tyra Schupbach of West Bend Mallard got out in front of the pack, pulling away from the field. Richman took the lead with around a mile left and won the race in 18:14.71 with Schupbach taking 2nd in 18:20.71. She finished a 1:19 ahead of 3rd place. Ridge View has four runners in the top 15, winning the meet with 58-points, ahead of Sioux Central-Sioux Rapids with 74-points.
