Kuemper’s defense was dominant the offense was able to run the ball well while sprinkling in enough passes to keep the Rams from loading the box. The Knights ran the ball 42 times for 222-yards with a pair of touchdowns and threw for 144-yards on 16 attempts with two more touchdowns. The defense was just as dominant, forcing Greene County to punt on their three possessions, holding them to thee and outs on each possession. Griffin Glynn had an interception on the Rams best drive of the game, making a great read in the end zone and making a play on the ball. The Rams finished the game with 32-yards rushing and 75-yards passing.

Kuemper punted on their first possession the defense made a stop, forcing the Rams to punt. They weren’t able to handle a high snap on the punt, recovering the ball on their own 18-yard line. Kuemper took advantage of the short field with Jarin Hoffman scoring on a 4-yard run with 7:43 left in the 1st quarter. Another three and out for Greene County gave Kuemper the ball on their own 35-yard line. The Knights marched down the field, scoring in seven plays when Brock Badding hit Carson Kanne in the flat. Kanne broke a tackle at the 5-yard line and scored on a 12-yard touchdown. The Knights led 14-0 with 2:15 left in the 1st quarter. Greene County punted again but the Knights turned the ball over on downs at the Rams 32-yard line early in the 2nd quarter. The Rams started to have success on offense, moving into Kuemper territory. They took a shot to the end zone but Griffin Glynn did an outstanding job turning and running with the receiver, making a one-handed interception in the end zone. Kuemper took advantage of the turnover, driving 80-yards in 14 plays, scoring on a 1-yard sneak from Brock Badding. The Knights were up 21-0 at half.

The Knights defense gave up a first down in the first-two Ram drives in the 2nd half, setting Kuemper up at their own 47-yard line. They marched down the field, scoring on a 24-yard pass to Ryan Sundrup, who broke a tackle and streaked down the field, putting Kuemper up 28-0 with 11:11 left in the game. Greene County tried to make a comeback, driving into Kuemper territory on a 11 play drive but the Knights made a stop and ran the clock out, winning their fourth straight game.

Jarin Hoffman led the Knights rushing attack with 115-yards on 22 carries with a touchdown while Brayton Alford and Ryan Lucas both had 8 carries with Alford running for 44-yards and Lucas for 41-yards. Brock Badding threw for 135-yards and a pair of touchdowns. Carson Kanne caught 5 passes for 65-yards and a touchdown with Ryan Sundrup adding 2 catches with one for a touchdown. Kent Sanders had a team high 9.5 tackles with Griffin Glynn making a nice interception.

Kuemper is 4-1 overall and 2-0 in district 8. They head to Des Moines Christian on Friday in KIKD 106.7.
