On Friday, the Carroll Tigers open up district play with a road win at MOC Floyd Valley. All four of Carroll’s wins have come by double digits. Carroll opened up the first quarter with a touchdown as Carter Essick found Owen Klocke for a 48-yard touchdown to lead 7-0. Carroll would score two more touchdowns in the first half as they would take a 20-7 lead at the half. In the first half, Klocke had two touchdowns and 107 receiving yards. Carroll also went over 300 yards in the first half of play. MOC was able to cut into the Carroll lead in the third quarter, but the Tigers held on to a 27-14 lead going to the fourth. The Tigers added a couple more touchdowns in the fourth quarter as they would go on to win 41-21 over MOC.
Carter Essick was 7-11, throwing the football for 194 yards and four touchdowns. Owen Klocke was his main target, as he caught four passes for 141 yards and three touchdowns. Taidyn Peterson continued his great season on the ground as he ran the ball for 252 yards with a couple of touchdowns. Defensively, Edrik Heisterkamp led the Tigers with nine total tackles. Peterson chipped in eight tackles in the win. Quinten Polking added 6.5 tackles and an interception on defense. With the win, Carroll moves to 4-1 and open district play 1-0. The Tigers are back in action on Friday as they host Bishop Heelan for homecoming.
