Audubon remains undefeated, playing like a team on a mission as they defeated Coon Rapids Bayard on Friday. The Crusaders struggled on offense for a second straight week, falling to 1-4 on the season. The Wheelers running game was strong, rushing for 299-yards, averaging 8.1-yards per carry. They only threw the ball once, completing it for a 36-yard touchdown. Audubon scored on special teams with Aaron Olsen returning a punt 37-yards for a touchdown. The Crusaders finished with 41-yards rushing with Caden Oswald scoring on a 32-yard touchdown run. They threw for 14-yards.
Carson Wessel scored on a 35-yard run with 10:37 left in the 1st quarter, putting the Wheelers on the board early. Aaron Olsen extended the lead to 16-0 with a 5-yard touchdown run with 5:36 left in the 1st quarter, staring an avalanche of points for the Wheelers over the final five minutes of the quarter. Olsen returned a punt from Coon Rapids Bayard 37-yards for a touchdown, then scored on a 43-yard touchdown run with 0:46 left in the 1st quarter as Audubon took control, up 32-0.
