The South Central Calhoun test second-ranked ACGC in Guthrie Center on Friday, but ultimately fell on the road. The Titans had to battle through injuries during the week, with younger players stepping in and playing big roles. In the first quarter, ACGC came out and scored two touchdowns, and they took an early 14-0 lead. The Titan’s offense picked up the pace in the second quarter and tied the game up at 14-14 at the half. In the second half, ACGC added a touchdown in the third and fourth quarters, and they would go on to beat SCC 28-14. Sophomore quarterback Luke Patterson got the first start of his varsity career and played great. Patterson went 12-16 for 121 yards and a couple of touchdowns. Patterson was also the Titans leading rusher, with 37 yards on the ground. Charlie Nattress was the leading receiver, going for three receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown. Cole Higgins was balanced on offense. Higgins rushed for 35 yards on six carries and added six catches for 44 yards. Nattress was the leading tackler for the Titans, recording 8.5 tackles. Higgins also added eight tackles in the loss. With the loss, SCC falls to 2-2. The Titans are back in action on Friday against IKM-Manning on KIKD 106.7.
