Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: IKM-Manning Falls in Tight Game Against Riverside on Friday

IKM-Manning battled until the end but fell short, losing to Riverside 28-20, falling to 2-2 overall on the season. The Wolves were tied at the end of the 1st quarter but trailed 21-14 at half. Riverside kept moving the ball on the ground, led by Jaxon Gordon, who carried the ball 37 times, running for 219-yards. His three touchdowns, along with a 13-yard touchdown from Cole Jeppesen, gave them 286-yards on the ground. IKM-Manning was able to get Davis Rasmussen some running lanes as he ran for 101-yards on 11 carries, scoring a pair of touchdowns. The offense struggled to find success in other areas running for less than 200-yards and passing for only 26-yards. Riverside didn’t pass much but hit for big plays when they did, going 3-5 for 57-yards. IKM-Manning trailed 28-14 going to the 4th quarter, pulled himself within 8 late.

Davis Rasmussen had 11 carries for 101-yards and a pair of touchdowns. Ben Ramsey had a rushing touchdowns on 9 carries. Jace Starman had a team high 10 tackles with Ben Ramsey and Davis Rasmussen both having 9 tackles. Alex Hoppens recovered a pair of fumbles.

The Wolves fall to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in district play. They head to South Central Calhoun on 93.7 KKRL on Friday.
