Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: East Sac County Opens District Play With Loss To Emmetsburg

The East Sac County Raiders opened the district portion of the season with a loss at home Friday to Emmetsburg. The first half was close, as both defenses were strong in the first quarter. The game would remain scoreless at 0-0 going to the second quarter. In the second quarter, Emmetsburg would add a couple of touchdowns to take an early 14-0 lead over ESC at the half. The third quarter was the difference in the game as the Emmetsburg added four touchdowns, scoring 28 points in the quarter to grow their lead. The E-Hawks would take a 42-0 lead going to the fourth quarter. Towards the end of the game, the Raiders were able to add a touchdown but would go on to lose 42-6.

Sam Julin did a great job of finding open receivers as he went 11-14 in the passing game for just 63 yards. Landon Grindle was the leading rusher for the Raiders. Grindle had 33 yards on the ground on eight carries and added a touchdown. Carson Schmitt caught five passes for 29 yards. Defensively, Schmitt added 14 tackles. Asher Lawler chipped in 13 tackles on defense for ESC. With the loss, the Raiders fall to 1-3. East Sac County is back in action on Friday against Pocahontas Area.
