A tough 2nd quarter put the Crusaders in a hole they couldn’t recover from against a strong CAM team in a non-district matchup. The 32-point 2nd quarter for CAM put them up 38-0 at half, forcing the Crusaders to go away from their run game. They finished with 168-yard rushing, led by Landon Cook, who carried it once for a 71-yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter. Bryce Lewis got his first start at quarterback, finishing 7-15 through the air for 75-yards with two interceptions. CAM ran the ball 26 times for 209-yards, scoring five touchdowns. Makade Paulsen had a team high 96-yards on 11 carries, three of them going for touchdowns. Brayden Chester added 60-yards rushing and a touchdown. CAM threw the ball four times for 147-yards and three more touchdowns.
Landon Cook broke off a 71-yard touchdown run for Coon Rapids Bayard in the 3rd quarter, putting them on the board. CAM outscored Coon Rapids Bayard 26-6 in the 3rd and with continuous clock the 4th quarter went scoreless.
The loss drops Coon Rapids Bayard to 1-3 overall. They head to Audubon on Friday.
