Carroll earned their nineth win of the season, going five sets on the road to earn the win. The Tigers rolled in set one, using a strong service game, tough block, good scramble and they got Olivia Rowedder going on the outside. Denison Schleswig led early in set two but Carroll tied it at 9 and took the lead at 10-9. They went up 2-0 with a 25-19 win. Carroll nearly rallied for the sweep, down 22-17 but rallied to tie the set at 22 and 23, grabbing a 24-23 lead with match point. The Monarchs rallied back and won 28-26 to send it to a fourth set. Carroll struggled in set four and Denison Schleswig rolled to a 25-19 win. Carroll grabbed a little momentum late in the set and kept it going with a 8-2 start to set five. They rolled to a 15-5 win to improve to 9-6 on the season.

Emily Puck had a setter kill to open the match, helping Carroll start quickly with Marasyn Wittrock serving an ace as Carroll went up 3-0. Kills by Amanda Wardell, and Katelyn Aden and an ace from Olivia Rowedder helped Carroll lead 8-1. The Tigers kept stretching the lead with Olivia Rowedder adding two kills as they lead grew to 18-6. Chloe Kock and Rowedder added a kill as Carroll went up 23-11. Analia Ayala finished it off with a kill and the Tigers were up 1-0. Denison Schleswig grabbed their first lead in the second set, going up 2-1. They extended the lead to 4-1 but Katelyn Aden and Amanda Wardell had back-to-back kills, tying it at 4. Carroll tied the set at 5, 8 and 9 before taking the lead back at 10-9. Chloe Kock had a block to push the lead to 12-9 and Carroll scored four straight on kills from Olivia Rowedder, Katelyn Aden, Rowedder and Amanda Wardell. The Tigers kept the lead around six the rest of the set, winning on back-to-back kills by Analia Ayala and Olivia Rowedder.

Carroll won the first-two sets having grabbed the lead first. Denison Schleswig took the lead to start three and it worked to their advantage. They led most of the set with Carroll tying it at 2 but the Monarchs went up 8-3. Emily Puck pulled it to 9-5 and Analia Ayala had a kill to make it 9-7. Denison Schleswig stretched the lead back to 17-10 and led 22-16 late before Carroll started to chip away. The Tigers serve forced Denison Schleswig out of system and into a bunch of errors. Carroll tied the set at 22 and 23 before and ace from Aubrie Drake gave them match point at 24-23. The Monarchs fought back and won the set 28-26. Katelyn Aden tied the set at 26 with a big kill but the Tigers wouldn’t score again. Carroll jumped out 3-0 in set four with kills from Amanda Wardell and two from Olivia Rowedder. Denison Schleswig fought back, grabbing a 6-5 lead. They slowly took over the set, getting up 19-12. Amanda Wardell stopped the momentum for a moment with a kills as Carroll crept within 22-17 on an ace from Emily Puck. Denison Schleswig held on to win 25-19.

Olivia Rowedder put Carroll up 1-0 with a kill in set five and Carroll got on a roll early. They built an 8-2 lead with Katelyn Aden having a pair of kills and a great diving dig. Amanda Wardell made it 9-3 and Katelyn Aden had her third kill of the set, making it 10-3. Carroll never allowed Denison Schleswig to get their footing and Olivia Rowedder had a pair of kills late as Carroll won 15-5.

Oliva Rowedder led Carroll with 13 kills, adding 12 digs, 3 blocks and a pair of aces. Emily Puck moved the ball around really well, finishing with 30 assists along with 7 digs. Marasyn Wittrock had 16 digs with Katelyn Aden adding 15 digs, 7 kills and 3 blocks. Amanda Wardell and Chloe Kock both had 4 blocks. Aubrie Drake finished with 12 digs and Amanda Wardell added 6 kills.

Carroll sits 9-6 overall as they prepare to host their tournament on Saturday.

South Central Calhoun came out sharp, rolling through the opening set against Panorama. Brenna McAlister had a strong match swinging and the Titans serve helped them, finishing with 7 aces. They were able to scrap out the second set, winning 26-24 to complete a sweep. Brenna McAlister paced them with 10 kills while adding 5 digs. Norah Riedesel had 17 assists with Alexa Holm adding 6 digs and 2 aces. Brooklyn Pruitt led them with 3 aces and Sadie Wheelock had 2 blocks. Jayci Graeve had 4 kills.

The Titans had to rally against Greene County, dropping the opening set 25-21. They responded nicely with an big win in the second set to force a third. Brenna McAlister had another huge match at the net, pacing the Titans with 16 kills, helping them squeeze out the third set to win the match. McAlister added 6 digs and 3 blocks while Jayci Graeve added 10 kills, 10 digs, 3 blocks and a pair of aces. Norah Riedesel had 23 assists with Alexa Holm finishing with 10 digs. Sadie Wheelock and Kaitlyn O’Neill had big match in the middle with 3 blocks each. Macie Dorman added a pair of aces.

The two wins improved the Titans to 17-5 overall as they head to West Bend Mallard for a triangular with Emmetsburg on Thursday.

IKM-Manning showed a lot of promise and grit on Tuesday, falling behind Treynor 2-0 after struggling in the opening sets. The Wolves played really good volleyball the next two sets, pulling out two wins by two-points each. They won 25-23 and 26-24 to send the match to a fifth set. Miscues hurt the Wolves in the fifth set but they battled hard all match. Addisyn Bandow and Keagan Eischeid were strong at the net with Bandow having a team high 10 kills to go with 2 blocks. Eischeid added 7 kills and 2 blocks but played well in the back row as well with a team high 19 digs with 2 aces. Anna Stangl had a strong night defensively with 18 digs while serving a pair of aces. Karlee Arp had 17 assists and Olivia Linde added 12 digs.

The Wolves slip to 2-2 overall and  0-2 in the Western Iowa Conference. They host Missouri Valley on Thursday on 93.7 KKRL.

Ar-We-Va had a chance to win set one, up 22-18 but CAM rallied for a 25-22 win. The Rockets played well most of the night but struggled from the service line and weren’t able to overcome mistakes in a tight loss in the second set and dropped the third set 25-17.

The Rockets were balanced at the net with Gabrielle Hundling, Morgan Berg and Annalee Wittrock all with 4 kills. Amber Ragaller had 11 assists and 8 digs. Morgan Berg led the Rockets with 10 digs with Emma Leiting adding 9 digs. Amber Ragaller had a team high 3 aces.

Ar-We-Va falls to 0-8 and will host Coon Rapids Bayard on Thursday.

Exira-EHK served the ball well and got strong nights at the net from Taryn Petersen, Jaelynn Petersen and Mayne Jorgensen while rallying from down one set to win in four. The Spartans struggled to get going in set one, falling 25-12 but quickly recovered in set two. Jaelynn Petersen and Taryn Petersen got rolling with Jaelynn finishing with 14 kills and Taryn having 11 kills. They took set two 25-19 and kept the Tigers off balance with an aggressive serve, finishing with 13 aces, led by 6 from Taryn Petersen. A 25-18 win put the Spartans up 2-1 and they rolled in the fourth set to earn a big road win. Riley Miller, Zoey Rasmussen and Jaelynn Petersen all had 2 aces with Miller adding 10 assists. Brooklyn Flathers had 9 assists and Mayne Jorgensen added a strong night with 6 kills and 10 digs. Jaelynn Petersen added 8 digs, Riley Miller 6 digs and Zoey Rasmussen 5 digs.

The win improves the Spartans to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the Rolling Valley. They travel to Paton Churdan on Tuesday.

The Kuemper Knights dropped the first set, but they bounced back on Tuesday when they picked up a conference win over St. Albert. Kuemper struggled in the first set as they fell down early and were unable to battle back as they lost 25-16. Kuemper cruised in the next three sets, winning by double digits in two of them. In the second set, Kuemper won by 15, picking up a 25-10 win to even up the sets at 1-1. Kuemper would win set three 25-15 to take a 2-1 lead over St. Albert. Kuemper capped off the match with a 25-16 win to beat St. Albert 3-1. 

Brianna Wittrock picked up a team-high 19 kills in the win over St. Albert. Kolbi Peter recorded nine kills. Chipping in eight kills at the net was Mariah Heuton. Elsa Tiefenthaler recorded a team-high 26 assists. Karsyn Overmohle had 18 assists in the win. Wittrock chipped in a team-high five blocks. Kaylie Simons played well in the back row with 35 digs.

The Kuemper Knights went 2-0 at a triangular in St. Albert on Tuesday and picked up a 3-1 win over Red Oak. All four sets were back and forth. In the first set, Kuemper picked up a back-and-forth win 25-22 to jump out to an early 1-0 lead. Red Oak responded in the second set as extra points were needed to decide a winner. Red Oak would pick up a 26-24 win and even the sets up at 1-1. Kuemper won set three by five points, picking up a 25-20 win. The fourth set was exciting, and extra time was needed to decide on a winner. Kuemper would walk away with a 27-25 win and would go on to beat Red Oak 3-1. 

Mariah Heuton led the Knights with ten kills. Brianna Wittrock added nine kills in the win. Kolbi Peter continued her great night with seven kills against Red Oak. Elsa Tiefenthaler and Karsyn Overmohle each recorded 16 assists. Wittrock recorded a team-high six blocks. Kaylie Simons had a great night in the back row, picking up 15 digs in the win. With the win, Kuemper improves to 21-0. The Knights are back in action on Saturday at the CYO tournament.

The Audubon Wheelers fell on the road at Underwood on Tuesday. Each set was decided by double digits. In the first set, Underwood came away with a 25-13. Audubon fell down early in the second set and would go on to lose 25-10. The third set was all Underwood as they walked away with a 25-13 win. Audubon would go on to lose 3-0 on the road. In the loss, Harlow Miller led the Wheelers with 11 kills. As a team, Audubon recorded 14 kills. Anna Larsen recorded 14 assists for the Wheelers. Audubon also recorded five blocks as a team. Kadence-Brannan-Sporrer picked up a team-high 11 digs. With the loss, Audubon falls to 5-7. The Wheelers are back in action on Thursday against Riverside.

The Glidden-Ralston Wildcats fell at home as they hosted Boyer Valley for Rolling Valley Conference volleyball on Tuesday. The Wildcats held the lead in every set, but big runs from the Bulldogs helped them sweep Glidden-Ralston. The Wildcats started fast, as the first set was the best of the three. Glidden-Ralston held onto a 5-4 lead before Boyer Valley went on a run and took the lead at 14-7. The Wildcats would go on to fall 25-17 in the first set. In the second set, Glidden-Ralston jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but another run by Boyer Valley helped them pick up a 25-12 win. Boyer Valley jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the third set and would go on to win 25-11. Glidden-Ralston would go on to lose 3-0 at home to Boyer Valley. 

Lauren Hulsing recorded a team-high five kills in the loss. Hulsing also led the Wildcats with two blocks. MaKenna Wiederien picked up 12 assists. Glidden-Ralston only recorded one ace, which came from Kassidy Wenck. With the loss, Glidden-Ralston fell to 5-3. The Wildcats are back in action on Thursday against CAM.

The Paton Churdan Rockets drop a conference matchup on Tuesday on the road at West Harrison. The Rockets fell down in the first set as they lost 25-16. The first set was the closest of the match. In the second set, Paton Churdan would lose by ten points at 25-15. West Harrison would come away with a 25-10 win in the third set as they went on to win 3-0 over Paton Churdan. Mia Russell and Alivya Smith recorded five kills in the loss. Smith also picked up a team-high 13 digs. With the loss, Paton Churdan falls to 2-3. The Rockets are back in action on Thursday against Woodbine.
