Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Titans Can’t Overcome Early Deficit Against Riverside

Riverside used a pair of short drives to take an early 14-0 lead as South Central Calhoun struggled to get their ground game going. The defense played well, holding the Bulldogs scoreless in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, giving South Central Calhoun a chance to rally. The Bulldogs defense contained the Titans offense until the 4th quarter when the Titans began having success throwing the ball. Andrew Anderson went 20-35 through the air for 257-yards, setting up a couple short touchdown runs in the 4th quarter. Caleb Juhl put the Titans on the board with  a 3-yard touchdown run with 8:14 left in the game. Anderson hit Garrett Krause for a 7-yard touchdown with 5:03 left. Riverside matched the Titans output, keeping the lead around two scores. Anderson capped the Titans scoring with 0:51 left with a 7-yard touchdown run. South Central Calhoun scored the Bulldogs 21-20 in the  4th quarter.

South Central Calhoun ran for 57-yards on 27 carries, led by Mike Trott with 16-yards on 8 carries. Cole Higgins had a big night catching the ball, finishing with 9 catches for 166-yards while Garrett Krause added 3 catches for 25-yards and a touchdown. The Bulldogs ran for 334-yards on 46 carries, averaging 7.3 yards per carry with Jaxon Gordon rushing for 248-yards and 4 touchdowns. They hit 6 of 8 passes to help move the chains.

The Titans are 2-1 overall and 1-1 in Class A District 7. They travel to AC/GC on Friday.
